"Great windows, easy process. Kirk the owner is hands and makes sure the job is done to the highest standard. Josh the installer was great, he explained everything and was focused on doing the job right, no short cuts. I would highly recommend them."

"I had a couple questions about some trim on the inside part of some of the windows and the owner himself came out to make sure everything was done right and that I was happy with the install and new windows."

"Excellent company. Out of three bids, Metroplex was the lowest with the best warranty and service policy. Barry was very thorough and discussed our options to make sure we were happy with our choice. Be sure to have the heat transfer demonstration shown to you. Installers arrived on time and did an excellent job. Replaced 13 windows in my 30 year old home; 2 of my original windows had hidden damage to the wood trim caused by rot. Metroplex crew made necessary repairs before installing the windows. Jesus and crew were fast and did quality work. They carried away old windows and debris; they also cleaned the windows after removing the labels. Very satisfied."

Windows questions, answered by experts

DIY is possible with the proper tools. Professional installation ensures a proper seal and energy efficiency.

Deciding whether to repair or replace a window depends on the specific issue, the window's age, and the cost-effectiveness of the solution.

Repair is often better for:

  • Minor issues such as a single broken glass pane, a stuck window, or small leaks. Repair is typically more affordable for isolated problems.

Replacement is the better long-term solution for:

  • Major problems like deteriorating or rotting frames, significant leaks, or drafts.

  • If your windows are over 15 years old, as repairs may only be a temporary fix for an aging unit.

  • If you have a widespread problem affecting several windows.

High winds can be harmful to casement windows and all types of windows. Because casement windows can swing outward, high winds could slam the window against the side of the house, bend the hinges, or even rip the window off of the hinges. If you hear some strong gusts outside, it’s best to pull the casement windows shut until it all blows over.

Wood windows are often worth the cost because they add more to curb appeal and your home value than more affordable options like vinyl and aluminum. Wood windows also offer better insulation than vinyl and aluminum windows, and they can last about twice as long. As such, they’re more expensive up front but offer greater value and a higher ROI.

Most properly installed and maintained windows last between 15 and 20 years. Fiberglass windows last much longer than your average window. Since they don’t warp from temperature changes, rust, or rot, you might be able to hold onto fiberglass windows for up to 40 years. On the other hand, poorly maintained wood windows may only last for a few years.
