"When I bought this house, it was was filthy, smelled horrible from outside even, was rodent and roach-infested. Counters, floors were wet and rotting. Everything had to be torn out and rebuilt. Now my home is beautiful. The bathrooms are lovely. There were no short-cuts or rush jobs, or anything left unfinished. I’ve had neighbors and friends who are in building and construction admire and compliment the high quality of the work done on my home. Most people who come in comment on the beautiful flooring, or the cleanliness of the walls and ceilings. I live in a quiet, gated community and there was never a complaint about a mess outside or noise. Very clean."

"I was very satisfied with KWpainter -A+ Superior Painting and Home Solutions. They showed up promptly and did a good job, they pressure washed the whole house, they cleaned the siding and did some repair work on the porch and the sheetrock on the ceiling. Their price was better than another quote that I had received."

"We removed the laminate floor ourselves and left the rest for Jarrett and his crew.
Concrete and sand was brought in to correct the grade of the floor, then a product called "Red Barrier" was applied to waterproof the floor before laying the tile.  There were no cracks in the foundation to be fixed before laying the sand and concrete.
Jarrett sent pictures of a few different ways to stagger the wood tile planks, and he let me choose the version that I liked the best before laying the tile.  He also sent a picture of a grout color used on a previous similar job to see if I liked it (and I did).
He estimated for the job to start on Monday and finish on Friday, which was accomplished with the exception of sealing the tile.
I'm am very pleased with the workmanship and Jarrett kept me informed with the progress of the job.
If you want a contractor that pays attention to detail and has a crew of quality performers, then hire CJM Custom Homes!
Now .... for painting.  I'm having Jarrett prepare a quote for this next phase of our home renovation."

Popcorn Ceilings questions, answered by experts

It is often less expensive to cover a popcorn ceiling instead of removing it. Installing drywall costs $1.50 to $3 per square foot, whereas popcorn ceiling removal averages $7 per square foot. Another option may be installing beadboard panels over top, giving your ceiling a fresh and modern look.

If your popcorn ceiling is asbestos-free and you are ready for a new look, painting is an option. As long as there is no flaking or other wear, a new coat of paint might be just the thing to refresh the old ceiling. The best way to paint a popcorn ceiling is to use either a paint sprayer or a thick roller to cover the popcorn texture fully. (Do not forget to dust it off beforehand!)

“Note that if you eventually want to remove the popcorn ceiling, a painted ceiling is a labor-intensive job to remove and will cost more,” says Bob Tschudi. “Once painted, the process of removing the popcorn ceiling requires physical scraping as opposed to a spray-and-scrape approach. It’s very labor-intensive, and thus more costly.”

The cost of application ranges from $1 to $3 per square foot, depending on the presence of asbestos and the difficulty of removal.

Knockdown hides imperfections better than orange peel due to its thicker, more varied pattern. The valleys and peaks make flaws less visible under lighting. However, note that knockdown walls will collect more dust and dirt, so be prepared to wipe them away more frequently than you would with orange peel.

It depends on the type of texture you’re adding but yes, you can often use a roller to texturize a ceiling. The roller needs to be able to hold enough medium to create some relief on the ceiling but not so much that gravity will pull it off before it dries. Using a roller with a nap between ½” and ¾” will allow the roller to hold enough material to do the trick.
