"Lance was great from the start, friendly and professional. He was our first bid and after 3 other bids we went with Rhino. We appreciated his responsiveness and we felt at ease knowing he was handling all the details. I am a stay at home mom and having workers in your home for two days is never fun, but Lance made sure they were inside minimally making my experience better. Lance was also responsive to my call after the job and he has some slight repairs to make because of the natural wear and tear process on a section of our ceiling. He is coming next week to complete repairs.

"Great! Jeff arrived early for the tenant-requested 8 AM appointment even though he had what must have been an hour's drive to get there. He went about his business professionally and (importantly) honestly, checking for signs of mold. He concluded that there was not a mold problem, and gave the tenant and me the details of how he came to his conclusion. He was thoroughly knowledgeable of his vocation. There was no charge for the housecall. To show my appreciation for all that he did, I tried to pay for his breakfast. While he appreciated my gesture, he graciously declined."

Popcorn Ceilings questions, answered by experts

Challenges include potential asbestos exposure, uneven finishes, or damage to the underlying ceiling if not done correctly.

Yes, you just may need to add an extra coat or two of primer to already painted ceilings. This will help mask the old paint and give you a fresh canvas on which to add your new texture.

Yes. Sagging ceilings often indicate more severe problems, such as structural damage, roof leaks, and pest infestations. As the sagging expands, your ceiling may eventually collapse, posing a threat to your physical safety and leading to expensive repair and restoration costs. That’s why you need to fix sagging ceilings as soon as you notice them.

Textured ceilings add visual interest and personality to a room, breaking away from the flat, uniform look of smooth ceilings. They are also practical, as the texture helps to hide imperfections, making them ideal for older homes or spaces prone to wear and tear. Textured ceilings come in a variety of patterns, giving homeowners the flexibility to choose a style that complements their design preferences, whether they want something subtle or more intricate. Additionally, certain textures can help with sound absorption, making rooms quieter and more comfortable.

No, not all popcorn ceilings have asbestos, but a vast majority do. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) banned its use in 1973, although it still may have been used up through the early ‘90s. But, in general, homes built or remodeled before the early ‘80s likely utilized materials with asbestos. That being said, a professional test is the only way to determine for sure.
