Customers say: Quick response

"We had our attic insulated with the foam spray. The crew worked efficiently, neatly, and it was not even obvious that a group of workers had been in our second floor and above, after the work was finished. They taped our carpet as well as the walkways and stairway. Our upstairs has been cozy warm in the winter and so much cooler in the summer after the foam was sprayed. We are very pleased with F3 Foam?s quality of work and everything was just as we were told it would be."

"Brazos Valley Insulators were very accomodating to my schedule when coming out to quote my house. They came after normal business hours and took their time to go over each thing that they wanted to do. They were very knowledgable making sure that I understood exactly what I would be getting if I chose them. They were very professional. While we did not book them (as insulating our attic in any form was going to be more expensive than what we had in the budget this year), we will certainly consider them in the future once we are ready to go through with the project."

"This company produced the quality of insulation they promised. We needed attic insulation as well as perimeter wall insulation. We asked for closed cell with open cell on top. The work was exactly as promised. Chester and his crew arrived on time and completed the entire project in one day. We are very pleased with the quality of the product, the work ethic of the men and the price of the insulation. We are very pleased with this company and would highly recommend them to anyone needing spray foam insulation."

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

There is no way to cut drywall without making dust, but you can reduce the amount of dust and especially the dangerous airborne particles by using manual cutting tools. Using a utility knife to score and snap your drywall will minimize dust production, and a jab saw for cutting cutouts for boxes and fixtures will generate almost no airborne dust. Even if you use these methods, you should still wear a respirator and safety goggles to avoid damage to your lungs and eyes.

Deciding whether to repair or replace drywall can be tricky, but your top considerations should be the extent of the damage and what caused the damage. For instance, if you need to repair a small hole caused by a doorknob that hit the wall, you can safely patch it without a second thought. However, if you have significant drywall damage caused by water damage, it’s best to thoroughly remove the drywall to inspect and repair the pipes behind it before replacing it.

Drywall insulation costs around $1,800, on average, but prices can range from $500 to $4,500, depending on a few different factors. The following things are important considerations to make when pricing out your insulation project:

  • Square footage of insulation

  • Type of insulation

  • Climate in your area and the insulation R-value required

  • Whether or not your walls are already finished

  • Accessibility of the area

  • Whether or not you need old insulation removed first

Textured walls can increase the value of your home if the style is modern and seen as a desirable feature and not something a prospective buyer would need to remedy. A good example of this is popcorn texture versus Venetian plaster. The plaster wall would add value to your home, whereas the popcorn texture may be something a new buyer would want to remove.

There are some instances when you can use extra drywall in your garden. Ideally, unused scraps of new drywall are best for amending soil without the concern of additional chemicals or mold. However, drywall with paint, mold, or potential asbestos requires specialized disposal by a professional and should be kept out of your garden.
