"I was impressed with Gary's knowledge of how to do the job right. I felt David and David R. were thorough in their approach to painting a large expanse of cedar fence. Although I explained to Gary that the side fence was to be moved out and connected to the back fence, adding whatever fencing was needed, they proceeded to angle it in to match the current back fence line, so that the left side of the yard was not squared off with the back fence but at an angle. Unfortunately, I did not realize that he didn't understand what I was asking for until it was too late. I told him about the discrepancy, and he said it would have cost a lot more to have it done the was I asked. Considering that we lost two feet of land with his approach, it hardly seemed that it would have cost "a lot more" to have done it as requested. He did not offer any reduction in price for the error, as I would expect. I decided that the best course of action was to let it be as it is. It would have meant tearing out fence posts, etc. With this exception, I think they did a fine job and were conscientious in their approach. Based on the fact that I was quoted $2,200 to remove the back fence and install a wrought iron fence, I thought the price of $3,400 was high for moving and painting a cedar fence."
