"Great experience with Northwest Plumbing! They replaced the hot water heater at my house and did a fantastic job. They were prompt, professional, and got the job done quickly without any hassle. Everything was installed properly, and they left the area clean when they were finished. I really appreciate the quality of their work and the great service. I would definitely recommend Northwest Plumbing to anyone needing a reliable plumber!"

"I am highly impressed with Phil and Ashley. They remodeled a stand alone shower all the way to studs and re-tiled, opened the entrance up, They made it absolutely beautiful! They are working on the kitchen now, all in the same week. So friendly, respectful of property, they are quiet (I had to work at home two days and never heard them), they are honest I went to work the rest of week and they just worked away and really reasonably priced. HIGHLY recommend!!! I will be telling everyone!!! I will use them again and again!"

"There are not enough good things I can say about DJ’s Custom Cabinets. After just 1 conversation with Don, I immediately knew I wanted to work with him. His customer service is impeccable. He was always quick to respond to my messages and is extremely polite. Don took his time to ensure I was getting exactly what I had envisioned for my home office. Additionally, his pricing is affordable and quality cannot be beat. I could not believe the high quality and detailed workmanship of our custom cabinets. We already have 3 other projects in mind for Don in mind for the future. I cannot recommend him enough!"

"Troy and the entire installation team were excellent! Arrived on time and started working immediately. Communication was very good and their work ethic was outstanding! They made sure our furniture was moved safely - tarps were placed from door to door to protect our floors - they made a special effort to keep the wife informed and allowed her to place the various components (grab bars, compartments, etc) so there would be no angst at the end. Cleaned up their work areas (inside and out) and hauled away old tub and panels) - made sure both of us understood the mechanics of the equipment and allowed me one extra day before signing off on the project for some antagonistic testing. I feel this team demonstrated everything that the salesman promised and more which is rarely the case. Well done gentleman!"

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

Yes, even though frost-free and freeze-proof faucets are designed to withstand winter weather, it is still recommended to cover them with an insulated cap, especially during periods of extreme cold. These faucets work by keeping excess water inside the home's heated space and using a downward slope to drain, but this protection can be compromised. For the faucet to work correctly, you must always disconnect any attached hoses before temperatures drop below freezing, as a hose can trap water and lead to freezing. Ultimately, covering all outdoor faucets, even freeze-proof models, is the best way to prevent frozen and burst pipes.

Even if you’re not very handy, DIY toilet repair is something many people can handle. However, that doesn’t mean that every repair project is something to try to take on yourself.

On paper, replacing a toilet flange is rather straightforward. However, it requires heavy lifting and critical thinking, especially if things don’t go according to plan.

To get rid of a sewer smell in your crawl space, you’ll have to find the source of the problem. If it has to do with your sewer lines, then repairing the line will help. You may need to make other repairs, like fixing your sump pump or encapsulating your crawl space to reduce moisture. After you make the repair, depending on the issue, you may still need to clean out your crawl space to get rid of the stink.

You can find out what type of shower valve you have by checking the manufacturer’s name and the valve’s serial number or model number. That information should be located on the back of the shower trim. You can use the name and number to do a quick online search to figure out which type of shower valve you have.

Capping a gas line costs approximately $125. The final price varies from $75 and $150 depending on your contractor’s hourly rate. To completely remove a gas line and cap it at the base can cost up to $250. Most contractors will charge a flat fee instead of by the hour since capping is often part of a larger project.
