"I needed a wrought iron railing for 4 steps leading to my porch. Octavio with Majestic Fences responded to my inquiry very quickly. I sent pictures of work needed. He came the next day to cut, weld, paint and install the railing. Beautiful job."

"I hired them to build and install a entry gate and patio fence. I hired this company based on a telephone call with the owner Mike. No referral or reviews to fall back on but my gut said he would do what I needed done. What a pleasant surprise. They proved they are a solid veteran owned business. MS Welding were responsive and professional. Quality materials and build. Unlike many contractors I have worked with, Mike communicated with me throughout the process to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. My wife and I are so pleased with the end result. I would not hesitate to hire this company again. I just found out they do painting and concrete also. I have no doubt they do this type of work well."

"The service went very well. They built the fence to our specification and we were satisfied with the outcome of the project. They ordered the parts for the fence for us. The staff showed up when they were supposed to. I was not home while they did the service. We worked with Mark Miranda closely on the project. They completed the job in about 1 day as far as the installation goes. I never had any issues with getting in touch with the company or scheduling the service."

Welding questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can use a saw to cut metal pipes. The best saw to use is a reciprocating saw, but even a fine-tooth hacksaw can get the job done. No matter which saw you use to cut metal pipes, wear protective gear, like work gloves, safety goggles, and ear plugs. Apply a firm, steady pressure to the tool, and always ensure the pipes are secured so they don't move while you make the cuts.

Sawing your hot tub into more manageable chunks so it can be lifted easily into a truck takes several hours. Generally, 2.5 hours for smaller hot tubs and around 4 hours for larger ones with the help of one to two people. If money isn't a concern and you want to skip the physical labor, you can hire a pro to get the job done.

Welding is the process of using extreme heat—and, sometimes, pressure—to attach two pieces of metal. In contrast, metal fabrication is a more involved process that can include welding, sheet metal work, bending, and other forms of metal manipulation. Metal fabrication is a large-scale project that may or may not involve welding, while welding is more often a step in larger fabrication projects.

There are a few things you can ask welders before you hire them to get an idea of their experience and ability levels:

  • Are you licensed and certified?

  • How long have you been in the welding business?

  • Do you commonly do the type of welding I need?

  • Do you offer any kind of warranty for your work?

  • Do you charge by the hour or by the project?

  • How long do you expect my welding project to take?

  • What steps do you take to minimize errors in your work?

Cutting round ductwork requires precision and the right tools. A duct cutter, specifically designed for circular ducts, is ideal. First, mark the cutting line on the duct using a measuring tape and pencil. Then, position the duct cutter's blade on the marked line. Apply steady pressure, rotating the cutter around the duct. The sharp blade creates a clean, precise cut. Alternatively, a reciprocating saw with a metal-cutting blade can be used for larger round ducts. Ensure the duct is securely held in place while making the cut to prevent slips and maintain accuracy.
