"It went very well! They built a stone fire pit set in a decomposed granite sitting area, stone edging and flagstone walkways in the back yard. We liked it so much we expanded the project to a small flagstone sitting area in front shrub bed and stone edging around all of the other shrub beds. The pricing was fair, the work was top notch and on time. We would recommend them."

"Came out and gave an estimate immediately. Was able to schedule the work quickly. They came out an replaced cracked bricks and repaired cracks in the mortar and around the windows by caulking and painting. It looks fantastic! Quality work at a reasonable price."

"I have two chimneys. I like contractors with no interest promotions that are able to finance without interests. This allows you to pay for service without interest before the promotion ends. So, you only pay the principal and no interest. You get wiggle room to pay at a rate you decide is comfortable for you. This is one of those companies. Also I like life time warranties on the service. This company has that too. I like contractors, who teach me and give me tips to maintain my home in a more cost effective way. This company does that. I used to buy logs to clean creosote from my fireplace. I learned it it safer to have chimney cleaned every 2yrs to prevent fires. Those logs don't clean at the level needed to get rid of all the creosote build up. I learned I had a 5ft bird nest in one if my chimneys, which was removed. I learned that one of my chimneyd was a death trap style chimney. A chimney that has space for animals to crawl in,make a nest and die from smoke inhalation in my chimney. I got a chimney cap to prevent that from happening. I also got the flashings fixed, chimney resealed to prevent water leakage into the house when it rains. The last wind storm almost tore off my other chimney. Also chimney cap has a spark preventer. So when burning ambers float up chimney the cap prevents ambers from getting on my roof and starting fires that could have burned down my house. Jacob taught me alot.I like when contractors are honest about what is needed and what is not. I like contractors who can repair and have the knowledge to repair instead of having to replace. Replace means more expense. I understand sometimes replace is the only option. However, replacement should not always be the answer. I like a contractor that can think on his/her feet not read out of a text book. I have found that issues are rarely ever text book. That describes the contractor I like to maintain my home. That was what I got in Jacob. I have shared this with my friend and neighbors via social media. So if you need what I have described in a contractor then 53 Air and Power is the right one. Ask for Jacob."

"Bill and his team came out and did a retaining wall along a new driveway we had installed. They came out, quoted the job, did an excellent job, at a great price, with professionalism and great communication. I would definitely recommend them for any type of work like this that you need done! We have another job with landscaping starting next week! We have every confidence it will be done well!"

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

Pellet stoves burn compressed wood byproducts, making them very efficient and clean-burning. However, even efficient combustion still produces fine dust particles, which could have an effect on the health of vulnerable people in your household, such as infants and people with asthma. A wood stove pro can help determine whether the levels in your home are unsafe.

A home fire sprinkler system reduces heat, flames, and smoke within seconds. Fire sprinkler systems hide in walls with sprinkler heads running along the piping throughout your home.

When the air surrounding a sprinkler reaches a specific temperature, the heads closest to the fire activate and release anywhere from 10 to 25 gallons of water per minute.

Most homeowners put a layer of compact sand or gravel at the bottom of their firepit, but you can also choose more decorative options like fire-resistant paving stones, bricks, or fire pit glass. Dirt by itself can even work, but other materials do a better job of spreading the heat around.

Start by checking the top or side edge of the door. Look for a certification label or metal tag stamped with details like the fire rating and information on the manufacturer. Even if it’s painted over, the tag should still be visible. Next, look along the edges for slim intumescent strips. They’re designed to swell up and seal gaps when exposed to heat. Finally, check if the door closes itself. Most fire doors have a self-closing mechanism, like an overhead closer or spring hinges. If none of these are obvious, contact a fire safety professional to help verify your door.

Most installations take 1-3 days, depending on system complexity and building size.
