"Cedar Creek Fences is great and I've already recommended them to friends looking to get a new fence. My neighbor and I wanted to get new fences and received 6 quotes. Cedar Creek Fences was the cheapest and the one we felt the most comfortable using. Dave was great in walking through how they would perform the work, split the bill so both of us could pay separately and helped us think through options that would look the best. The team was very quick in completing the new fence, was very professional in how they worked and we are very pleased with the product. Our fence is a board on board cedar fence and we also got a wrought iron fence on the interior of the backyard to separate our dogs from a play area for our young son. I would use Cedar Creek Fences again in a heartbeat and now have a 10 year warranty on a beautiful fence, so I doubt I'll need to anytime soon."

Customers say: True professional

"Ty Herbert delivered my dream fence. He made my $85,000 pos of a house (piece of
sh*t) and made it look like a million bucks!
I wanted the whole ordeal, 60’ linear feet of wrought iron, black powder
coated fence, finials, ball caps, 8’ gate, 4’ fancy gate w/ matching side
panels, concrete mow strip and all. He
even sent me a photo of the fancy gate before they powder coated it to see if I
was satisfied with the design. See
photos.
His crew was super fast and accurate. I started out looking for aluminum fencing
but switched over to wrought iron when I met and spoke w/ Ty. His work is impeccable! The crew was so clean it doesn’t even look
like anyone’s been there.
His communication instantaneous and was via Angie’s list and
then email and phone. I’ve never had
such an effortless contractor experience.
Two days before he started, I noticed Atmos flags in my
front yard. It didn’t even dawn on me to
call the utility companies. Plus he acquired
the permit and did not even charge me for it!
Smooth as silk. I wish I could do
it again! If anything goes wrong he’ll
be out to fix it but I can see after close inspection that this fence is
PERFECT!
All of this gorgeous work for only $2500, ½ down.
Thanks Ty and best of luck in your future
jobs. I think you got the raw end of the
deal w/ the other reviews

Wrought Iron questions, answered by experts

As with any project or material, installing wrought iron fencing has advantages and disadvantages. Some pros and cons of this fence material include:

Pros

  • Long lifespan with proper maintenance

  • Very durable

  • Aesthetically pleasing

  • Functional as well as decorative

Cons

  • Requires regular maintenance and cleaning

  • Expensive compared to other fence materials

  • Limited privacy

When looking at natural wood fences, you have several options other than cedar, namely: pine and redwood. Compared to cedar, redwood fencing has a deeper, red-brown color, better durability, and a higher price tag. Pine, on the other hand, is one of the most affordable types of wood for fences, but it requires the most maintenance out of the three and has the shortest lifespan.

Deer can crawl under a fence if it has a gap of around 6 inches or more. Make sure to close all gaps at the bottom of your fence to keep deer out, and the bottom of the material should be tightly secured, or the deer will push right through it. As an added benefit, closing shorter gaps at the bottom of a fence can also keep rabbits out of your yard.

Yes, fence posts need to be installed below the frost line to ensure stability and prevent heaving caused by freezing and thawing cycles. The frost line is the depth at which soil freezes during winter. By placing posts below this line, often around 3 to 4 feet deep or as recommended for your specific region, you reduce the risk of the ground shifting, which can lead to leaning or unstable fences. Adequate depth provides better anchoring and helps maintain the fence's integrity, ensuring it remains secure and upright throughout changing seasons.

You’ll need to bury the garden fence about 1 foot underground. It’s tempting to save on materials by burying the fence just a couple of inches, but if you do so, determined pests will still be able to dig under the fence and access your plants. Burying your garden fence deep into the soil is an important step that allows you to attach a wire barrier to the fencing.

Burrowing animals (like voles, moles, rabbits, and gophers) can’t dig or chew through this wiring, meaning that you’ll be keeping your prized petunias or your robust veggie garden from being eaten.
