"Service was excellent. I was happy that they were able to arrive earlier than they originally estimated. Both gentlemen were very polite, professional, and worked quickly and efficiently. My drains were completely blocked the first time I called, and they needed to snake the lines. A week later there was another blockage, but by the time they arrived it had cleared by itself. They checked the drains and added a strong acid to the clean-out pipe as an added precaution to dissolve anything that might cause another blockage. I wasn’t charged for the second service call, but I was advised that if it should clog again in the near future, they recommend sending a camera through the pipes to visualize the problem. "This past weekend, my third floor toilet/sinks were backing up due to a lost plumbing snake. I called SmartChoice and spoke with Carlos this past Sunday. He came out Sunday night and looked at the situation. He returned Monday with Travis and tried to get the snake out but couldn't (He removed the toiled, put in a camera and tried taking it out that way). He finally returned this morning (with Travis) and finished the job. He cut into the wall into our garage and pulled it out. I really appreciated the fact that Carlos tried multiple ways to get the snake out before cutting into the wall. He did not immediately pick the most expensive option.
During all 3 visits, Carlos (and Travis) were very professional. They were on time, very detailed with their explanation on what needed to be come. "Great, Alex is super professional guy, he also came by the house to make sure there were no problems. He got onto the roof after it was done and checked to make sure it was installed correctly. He check the front and backyard with a magnetic to make sure all the nails were picked up from the yard. He did a great job."

"Roberto came to our home and took very detailed measurements and then provided an estimate the next day. The estimate included two options, granite or pre-fabricated granite and included tile work for the backsplash and plumbing work. We met with him that weekend to look at the granite and pre-fabricated granite. At the granite manufacturer, he showed us full granite slabs, not small pieces and gave us his ideas on ideal granite colors and they matched with our thoughts. We went to the pre-fab granite location next where we were able to see the quality and Roberto educated us on Installation of pre-fab granite. We have a very long master bath countertop (almost 7"), so we went the traditional granite route. We then went to see tile options where Roberto showed us travertine tile samples that would look good with our granite choice. We even looked at grout samples, so that we would be sure to have the right look. We asked him what to do about our sad looking master bathtub. Roberto suggested granite to replace the seat and windowsill cultured marble and also a sliding glass door. We took his advice and were very happy. Roberto's installers came a week later and made short work of removing our old countertops and installing the new ones. The work was incredible and the detail was precise. The granite fits close to the cabinets and the seams are almost impossible to see. The following day, the backsplash was installed and the plumbing work started. The tile work is gorgeous and was done with considerable care, no large clumps of grout where a small tile piece should be. The plumbing was immaculate...clean, neat work with no swearing or unnecessary banging. The plumber Roberto works with even installed a new disposal in our kitchen since our old one was no longer working. The shower door and grout rework were excellent as well. What a pleasant experience. An additional note about Roberto... We had a top mount sink installed in the kitchen, not knowing that the granite needed to be cut in place to do that. Some dust was created, but Roberto sent someone the next day to clean and came himself to check on the work and ask for suggestions on how to improve next time. We loved working with Roberto and will do so again.

"I had already taken the trap off of the piping under the sink and cleaned it out, that didn't fix the clog. Since I realized the clog was somewhere in the pipes behind the wall, I knew I needed professional help. On a Friday morning, I called several places... some of which told me they couldn't get to me until the following Tuesday, others put me on hold when I called, and most were just generally unhelpful which made me decide not to use them. I saw JR Plumbing had an A rating on Angies so I thought I'd give them a try. The owner answered the phone immediately and was able to answer questions and was able to fit me into his schedule within less than 24 hrs. When he arrived he put covers on his shoes and (with no prompting from me) was respectful of my wood floors and carried his necessary equipment instead of rolling it through my house. He was professional, polite and very reasonably priced. If I have plumbing issues in the future, I will definitely give JR Plumbing a call again."

"If you need to remodel and live in GCR Builders service area, use this company. We called Scott Barker, the owner, originally to re-texture the ceiling in the living, dining and kitchen of our second home in Bayou Vista. We then asked him to install new tile flooring, Silestone countertops, marble mosaic backsplash, farmhouse sink and faucet for our kitchen. I mention the materials we used because it was all very labor-intensive to install well. His group did a fabulous job. His cost estimate for the job was accurate and he completed the job in a little less than a month after we picked out the materials we wanted. With us living and working in north Texas, we needed someone like Scott who kept us well-informed (but not excessively so) even though we weren’t there during any of the work. By the time we saw the work in person, it was complete and clean and exactly what we wanted. We plan to use him again to redo our bathroom in the same house."
