"Excellent service from John Moore! This review goes across the board to capture all those involved from the initial call for service to the final step of installation/replacement. We’ve used John Moore Services for several things in the past three months and once again they did not disappoint. Great customer service, pricing, speed and efficiency in installation! Highly recommend!!"

"They first brought in and attempted to install the wrong (lower level) model but the job boss caught it and they brought in the correct one. Then they couldn't get the thermostat to work but came back the next day and got it working. The next week the thermostat read 3 degrees higher than the set temp, next day it was a 4 degree difference, next day the screen went blank. They came out within an hour and fixed it but didn't seem to know what was wrong. Seems like the problem is with the American Standard product though. Cuccos was quick to fix the problems and very polite and clean. But also, the Angie's List page says they give a 10% discount to seniors and I didn't get that - when I asked, instead the owner offered 5 years free maintenance."

"I paid $50 for 20 point a/c tune up. The technician was polite and on time but was unable to replace freon or clean overflow drain. He said that the unit was installed backward and he couldn't reach the line to clean it out and couldn't change the freon because it was already contaminated. I'm not sure how true any of that is because I've had other a/c people in before to do routine maintenance and none of them ever mentioned these issues and it seems like something they would notice. So basically he could not do any of the tune up but did say that I needed a new interior unit. I thought maybe he was just trying to sell me a new unit but asked to have sales call me with a quote for a new unit anyway. They never called so the visit really was not helpful. I basically received no tune up and was told that I needed a new unit but also never received a quote for new unit, etc.

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can build a sunroom addition to your home despite living in a cold climate. Make sure to use high-quality insulation and windows and to supplement with sufficient heating from your HVAC system. The windows in the sunroom allow enough natural light into the room to help heat it most times without having to use the furnace. Even a small electric fireplace can heat the sunroom well enough.

Many HVAC companies offer free quotes and free estimates for repairs and new HVAC systems. Others offer low-cost quotes or apply the cost of the estimates or diagnostics to your final bill if you hire them. Be aware that some companies advertise free HVAC quotes and recoup the costs by charging more for their services. Free HVAC quotes are never truly free—they cost the company time and effort—so be a good customer. Also understand that you may end up paying for free quotes in another way if you don’t hire a reputable company.

The absence of heating or hot water, unusual noises like banging or gurgling, and visible water leakage are key signs. Abnormal boiler pressure, flame irregularities (for gas boilers), or pilot light issues may also signal trouble. Frequent cycling, soot or staining, and unusual odors, particularly gas-like smells, should not be ignored. Modern boilers often display error codes or lockout mode upon detecting issues. Uneven heating across radiators and rising energy bills without increased usage can further point to problems. Prompt attention to these signs is essential to prevent further damage and ensure safety.

No, there isn’t always water in radiators. In a one-pipe system, water is constantly circulating from the boiler to the radiators and back. In a two-pipe system, water travels through two separate channels: one that goes to your radiators and one that returns back to the boiler so it can heat up again.

Professional HVAC installation requires licensed expertise in several areas, including electrical- and plumbing-related work. An HVAC team must know how to safely handle regulated refrigerant chemicals and the gas, oil, or propane used in furnaces and boilers. A proper HVAC installation protects your home from energy loss, fires, and even carbon monoxide leaks.
