"I should give this guy a bad review just so everyone will leave him alone so we can have him all to ourselves, but I can't. Tuck's work is so incredible and is very reliable on getting our lawn work done in a timely manner and I never have to track him down. I also hired him to remove a massive amount of brush we had growing behind our fence. He also did some tree trimming for us as well. Of all the fencing options, the cheapest type is a repurposed pallet fence because it’s made of used materials that are easy to find for free. But if you’re not interested in the DIY game, customize a covered chain link fence or a plain wood fence to provide the best privacy possible.

If 20% or more of your fence is damaged, pros will often tell you that it’s a better use of your money to replace the fence entirely. Severe rotting and insect damage always call for a replacement. However, if you’re just dealing with a few loose posts or a little bit of mildew growth, you can repair the fence.

Ideally, when you replace a fence post, you should also replace the concrete footing. The concrete bonds to your new post, creating a secure base. If you install a new post into old concrete, it won’t be as sturdy.

That said, it is possible. Sometimes the post will lift right out of the concrete. If not, you can use a high-lift car jack to try and lift the pole out of the footing. Put the new post into the same hole and backfill it with fast-setting concrete. Keep in mind, this won’t work well for metal posts.

Wire fences are generally the most inexpensive type of farm fence to install, especially compared to lumber. Barbed wire is one of the cheapest options due to its simple materials, making it a good choice for low budgets and for confining docile animals in large spaces. Other options include hog wire and woven wire fences, which are strong, long-lasting, and relatively easy to repair. While wire fences require less lumber and reduce overall project costs, they are often considered less aesthetically pleasing than traditional wood fences.

Pallet fences come with built-in support through the fence posts you should install on each side of their vertical interior. Stand the fence upright and slide it onto the fence posts, then further support it with 2x4 wood boards that you drill across each point where two pallets connect side-by-side.
