"Came out and installed an exterior door and storm door a different installer could not do. The work was exceptional and the attention to detail was much appreciated. I will certainly work with them again in the future for other home projects."
We did this cabin remodel in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, which included Time and groove on the wall and making some doors from scratch to the owner specifications and installing door knobs everything was done from scratch with the material on site

"Bruce responded to my request very quickly to repair a louver door. He came in about two hours after my call. He determined the problem with the door and was able to fix it. I admire his tenacity while he was working. He did an excellent job. I will definitely call him for any future needs with home improvements. Bruce is a very pleasant person to work with. Thank you. "Great company to deal with, they are good at what they do and arrive when they say. We had them install kitchen cabinets, build a wall and Sheetrock half our basement. Next will be bathroom vanity, and paint entire apartment, can’t wait to see the end product. Will hire this company again for future work."

Doors questions, answered by experts

Minor modifications like grab bars and threshold ramps can be DIY, but professional services ensure compliance with ADA standards and structural safety.

In general, keyless door locks are considered safe, and their security depends on the type and quality of the lock. They cannot be picked like a traditional lock and often include added features like biometric access, PIN codes, and smartphone connectivity, which can make them more secure. However, they are not without risks. Potential vulnerabilities include hacking for Wi-Fi-connected models, battery failure, power outages, and technical malfunctions. To maximize security, it is important to choose a reliable brand, stay on top of software updates, and perform regular maintenance. While the risks are different, keyless locks are not considered more dangerous than traditional locks.

You should rekey your house every three years to minimize the chances of someone gaining access to your home. You can do it more than that, but it depends on the level of foot traffic and visitors you get. Businesses, for instance, routinely rekey their locks every six months to a year. If you experience a break-in or a house key has gone missing, rekey the locks immediately. The same goes if your lock becomes damaged.

French doors that open to exterior spaces are often installed to swing inward, as this makes them more secure than outward-swinging doors, due to the interior hinges being inaccessible from the outside. For interior doors, it’s personal preference which direction to hang your doors, but it’s common to have them open into the larger of the two spaces they’re separating.

You can convert a pre-hung door into a Dutch door, but it’s more of a pain. Pre-hung doors are already set in the frame with the hinges and everything aligned, so once you cut the slab in half, you’ll likely need to adjust the hinge placement and maybe even mess with the frame itself. It’s doable, but expect some trial and error because it’s not a straight-swap situation.
