"We needed our large, beautiful oak tree pruned. First, to remove branches overhanging our roof, and second, to make sure the tree was healthy. Joseph Sheffey of Rowan Tree Care came to the house, made a thorough assessment of the tree, gave us some wonderful recommendations. The price he quoted was well in line with other tree companies, who had subsequently not shown up for the work as it was too hard for their level of expertise. I was contacted the day before they were available for work. Then the next day, the climber and support crew were here by 8am, went immediately to work, and completed the pruning and some of the clean up that day. The next day, they again showed up promptly and had the mess cleaned up by noon. They replaced all the deck furniture they had moved the day before and the place looked wonderful. Maintain your wattle fence by inspecting it at least twice per year for loose weaving and degrading branches. Replace any seriously degraded sections, ensure water drains properly around the posts, and trim any sprouting branches if you used green wood. If you notice the weave loosening, you can often tighten it by gently pushing down on the top branches. You can also apply a natural wood preservative every two to three years to extend the fence's lifespan.

Adding a second coat of stain to wood can even out the color to some extent, but it won't drastically alter the hue if the initial application is too light or too dark. It's more effective at enhancing the richness of the color rather than significantly changing it. Ensure the first coat is dry before applying the second.

While power washing isn't a requirement before you stain a fence, it can make the job much easier and faster while reducing manual labor requirements. The stain will not work if the wood is full of dirt and dust, so power washing, sometimes called pressure washing, is a fast and effective way to prepare the wood for staining. Remember that you need to stain or repaint relatively soon after the wood has dried so that there isn’t time for dust and dirt to build up again. 

If you don’t treat a cedar fence, it will turn from reddish brown to gray over time. You can keep the cedar from graying and retain its attractive, deep red color by sealing your cedar fence with a stain that keeps the wood’s oils in and serves as a barrier against the sun’s UV rays.
