"My backyard has been neglected for the past 4 years. I needed imore than a winter clean up. Most of the yard is pavers and the weeds had taken over the entire yard. Also there were trees and flowerbeds to be removed. SCF did a fantastic job. They removed all the weeds, trees and flowerbeds. Then came back to cement the cracks in the pavers and return half the yard back to green grass. They worked hard and were diligent in very thing they did. The yard looks great. I had a limited budget. Sean gave me quality work while staying within my budget, which was very important to me. This was a quick fix for a 4 year long problem. He also gave me tips on how to control the weeds in the grass areas, what to plant in my new beds and said he would follow up with me in a couple of weeks. I would recommend S.C.F Services based on the quality of their work and Sean's knowledge and experience. Thank you."

"Chris did a fantastic job!  I love my new kitchen cabinets!  I had late 80s or early 90s "pink pickled wood" cabinets.  Chris sanded, primed and professionally painted my cabinets.  He does the base cabinets and drawers on site.  He removes the cabinet doors, and takes them to his shop to spray off site.  He delivered the doors back to me the following week, as promised.
Also, I have a Kitchen Aid refrigerator with the wooden panel insets.  Chris painted the doors to match my kitchen cabinets, for far less than buying new inserts from Kitchen Aid.
He always was punctual, friendly and a true professional.  He would always call or text and let me know when he'd be back, etc.
I would definitely have Chris back again, and probably will.

"We were called about setting up an appointment by the next day.  He came out & looked first to be sure that it was something he could do, then came back & did the job.  I had an old stove top & bought a newer one that turned out to be bigger than the hole in the countertop, so the main thing was getting the hole cut.  He needed to be sure that the structure underneath where the new hole would be was sturdy.  He cut the hole & put in the new stove top & it's working great.  He was very nice & professional.  The price was a set fee for a certain number of hours & he did not exceed the time that I bought.  I would absolutely use him again.

"Shain provided a very competitive estimate and was very flexible in arranging time to complete the work involved. He was very careful and corrected several problems that were not obvious or visible when he performed the original estimate. The finished ceiling was 'like new' due to Shain's commitment to providing excellent work. I'll happily look up Shain on my next major room painting project!!"

Pole Barn Builders questions, answered by experts

Building a barndominium means converting a barn into a house. Barndominiums are becoming popular as spacious and stylish alternatives to typical housing structures. Old barns that become houses traditionally consist of wooden construction. However, newer structures, such as pole barns, often contain metal exteriors and roofs. Converting a metal outbuilding into a house presents an excellent opportunity to create a barndominium from metal.

It is almost always more affordable to buy an existing home than to build a new one. Building a home involves numerous costs, including labor, permits, inspections, utility hookups, and brand-new materials, finishes, and appliances. Additionally, new construction loans can have higher interest rates than traditional mortgages, and property taxes on new homes are often higher, increasing long-term costs. An exception is a DIY house build, which can be cheaper than buying an existing home if you do the labor yourself. While building is generally more expensive, a new custom home offers complete control over the layout and design. Furthermore, new construction is typically worth more than a comparable pre-owned home and may provide a better return on investment if sold quickly.

You can use a variety of wood to build a barn door, but the most common options include 1-by boards and 2-by boards for the backing and the decorative boards on the front of the door. Softwoods like pine will save you some money and should hold up well, while hardwoods like maple and oak will stand up to more wear and tear. You could also build the backer out of plywood to minimize the cuts you need to make. Whatever you decide on, make sure the width of the wood is compatible with the mounting brackets you buy.

Whether you should choose a flat roof or a sloped roof depends on your particular situation. Flat roofs tend to be less expensive to install. However, sloped roofs have longer lifespans and stand up better to heavy snow and other inclement weather.

Keep in mind that even a flat roof needs to have a slight slope, usually around 1/2 inch for every foot. If it is completely flat, water will pool and cause damage, either from weight or leakage or rot.

Average barndominiums last between 50 and 150 years depending on the materials they are made from, how well they are maintained, and the environment they are built in. Barndominiums are very durable and have a much longer lifespan than traditional wood homes. With proper care and maintenance, well-built barndominium homes can last generations.
