Ronald Wambo was not only professional, experienced and efficient - he was friendly, polite and honest. I searched my neighbor’s recommendations on Nextdoor and replied to a post asking for contact information. I went to the company website at [*** Link removed ***] and easily scheduled an appointment online. I received a call back within the hour to confirm my appointment! Ronald came out on time to take a look at my issues and gave a more than fair estimate. He arrived at 7am the very next morning to begin the work. All modern boilers are condensing boilers because they’re the most efficient type. Instead of extra heat leaving through the flue, these boilers trap the heat and use it to heat the house. Whether you choose a combi boiler, system boiler, or regular boiler, you can opt to get a condensing system. If you have an old boiler that’s not a condensing boiler, it’s a good idea to get an upgrade.

It can take anywhere from four hours to three days to replace a boiler with a new one. How long your particular boiler installation takes will depend on whether you need a gas line installed and if you’re switching to a new boiler system. 

Replacing a combination boiler or standard boiler with the same system should only take four to six hours. Meanwhile, switching from a conventional boiler system to a combination boiler system could take a few days.

If your boiler is 20 years old, it’s time to get a new one. Although it may seem to be working fine, it’s likely eating up more fuel than it should. Also, compared to a brand-new boiler, one that’s 20 years old is probably not working as well. When you get your new unit, you’ll notice that your home is heating more quickly, and the heat is consistent throughout all the rooms.

Most home boilers will need an expansion tank. That’s because these boilers are closed-loop systems, where the water is trapped. An expansion tank is needed when the boiler heats the water and it expands, allowing air to condense in the tank to make room for the water. Other types of boilers don’t use an expansion tank, such as traditional steam boilers, but these aren’t as common. And hot water tanks may be able to use a pressure release valve instead.
