The passive ventilation again slashed the radon level in half, but I wanted the radon level down even further, so I ultimately opted to install the fan after weeks of data collection and analysis. He installed the fan so that I could easily turn it off to save energy based on seasonal variations. He is a very personable and methodical person, and prefers to monitor the progress of his work so that his customers don't hastily incur unnecessary cost. You almost never see someone like that in the service industry, and I cannot recommend him highly enough.

"First day of my vacation and there was no heat!  I didn't tell them it was my birthday, and so far it was miserable.  But I called and asked if someone could come out and find out what was wrong with my HVAC system.  I called the company that installed it, and they wanted an exorbitant up front price.  Hood's only wanted a fair, nominal fee to diagnose the problem, which I was so thankful for.  I live in Oak Ridge and was starting to think nobody would come.  They sent Chris out the same day, and without complaint he stayed as long as it takes to figure out everything he would need to do to get us up and running.  I have an older system and I expected a sales pitch.  Didn't get one.  I got straight up workmanship.  Chris was honest and knew what he was doing.
I told them I could give them the money to fix the unit on Friday.  So Friday, Chris came back out, with the new part I was missing (blower motor) and took care of the job.  
He didn't do anything that might make the visit more expensive.  He did everything he could to be considerate of the expense, and he was extremely polite the entire time.  When he was done, I spoke to Mary on the phone who always sounds like she's so very happy.
I was impressed by their professionalism.  They went above and beyond what is required in their work and I will never consider using anyone else until I've asked Hood's for other jobs I will have around my property.
