What an amazing moving company! From the senior relocation consultant "Nissim", the senior long distance coordinator "Tamara", to the moving staff workers and all the office team; everybody was responsive, accommodating, professional and efficient! No broken or missing items! I would definitely recommend Shleppers Moving & Storage to anyone

  • Muscle Movers LLC
Josh and his team were Amazing. From the moment I called to get the quote Josh was on top of everything ensuring I was making the best arrangements and even letting me know when the best time to move around my target date was to save the most money! The Crew was right on time the day of the move and packed everything into the truck Very quickly but also ensured to take care of all my belongings! I was already stressing over other things so having this one less thing to deal with was a blessing. They moved me in record time and now I can enjoy my new home and the transition was seemless! They even threw away some bulky items I was going to leave in my old place until I could get them picked up by a junk removal company! A 2 for 1

  • A Man With a Van & More Inc
Jimmy and his excellent crew, led by David, did an amazing job! They arrived on time, took care to prepare everything properly, were observant and thoughtful, always polite and pleasant, worked efficiently, and cleaned up as they went. The deliveries went like clockwork and they dealt with any unexpected issues very professionally. High quality work at a reasonable price. We highly recommend Man with a Van and will use them again

Even with a little issue that occurred. I am extremely pleased with the communication from everyone, from movers to manager. Thank you for loading my items onto the truck. I would recommend and use again in the future.

  • Teleport Moving and Storage
We used them recently for a local home move. They way underestimated the cost and time. The guys worked hard and we're very nice. But they so underestimated the move it turned into a 17 hour move, from 9 Thursday morning finishing at 4 AM Friday. They started strong but obviously as the day wore on, they were very tired and mistakes began to happen. There were broken items, primarily glass and some other items that shouldn't have happened. It was a two day move which they packed us on Wednesday and ran out of supplies, knowing the magnitude of the move the next day, they still went forward with the move as originally planned. They charged 40% over the estimate! They said they would fix or repair or compensate us for the damaged items, which we estimated to be about $3,300 based on other furniture repair we’ve had done. They fixed a few little items and said the rest they could not fix and offered us $1,000 to compensate us for the remaining items and inconvenience for the underestimating. Even thought this was no way near a fair settlement, in order to get this behind us we agreed. BUT they then said we needed to take down our review and give a 4 or 5 star review or we would not get the check. There was nothing in the review that they disputed. I refused their black mail. So don’t place any value of their reviews as this is how they get them. We would not use them ever agai

  • Fox Moving and Storage
I hate to come out blasting. Especially when a few people involved in the move were innocent. My son/daughter in law moved from Maryville to Spring Hill (3 hrs apart). The crew that came to pack the truck, were 5.5 hrs late. I understand getting behind. The crew called and said they would arrive in 2 hrs. It was 5.5 hrs. The crew pressured my son 3 times about how he needed to tip them. When he did tip them, they complained about the amount to his face. Their stuff was stored until the closing of their new house (2 weeks). The crew that delivered their property was 3 hrs late because they didn’t have a truck to load the belongings (2 hrs late). That crew was friendly. Both couches were filthy streaked with black marks. King size mattress was in a worse condition. They dropped the 130 yr old piano. Had SEVERAL objects on the truck that didn’t belong to my kids. It was an absolute nightmare from beginning to end. They tried to charge for the moving service again. This is after it had been paid in full before they loaded the first item! I can’t begin to fathom how they store peoples belongings. They just bring a big truck full of things and ask what is yours? I would not recommend this company to anyone. Again, I hate to be so harsh. But, this company added a mountain of stress and difficulty to what should have been an easy move

  • PODS Moving & Storage
I decided to use PODS for my move from Iowa to Tennessee. Communication and commitment to honor their pricing has been a disaster. Leaving Iowa was all good and the crew took good care of me. On the TN side, I have had to make multiple phone calls to arrange for drop off and pick up times which have no been timely. I was told since I was military, my first month storage was waived, but yet on June 20th I was billed $216.32 for storage. I finally got my PODS dropped off on July 11th and called to have them pick up the empty. On July 20th the police called stating the PODS was still in the street and it needed to be moved or it would be towed. PODS then billed me another $216.32 for storage since they could not pick it up in a timely manner. Now I am out $432.64 - I have file three disputes over this matter and yet no action from PODS

  • Great Nation Moving
It was a great experience working with GNM from start (quotation process) to finish. They met the schedule on-time at a competitive price with absolutely no surprises or disappointments. All household goods came through the process with no damage. Everyone from the sales guy, to the movers, to the office personnel were friendly, helpful and professional. I especially liked getting a 3% discount they offered for paying with cash

  • Christian Brothers Moving and Storage
Awesome moving company. They packed our house in Colorado, stored our items at their facility until we found a house in Tennessee then brought our items to our new house and unloaded our items very quickly. I would highly recommend. Jose - our driver - was AWESOME

  • Pro Movers Inc of Orange County
Thee worst experience of my life besides losing my son to cancer, that is how badly I rate Pro movers inc based out of Sanra Ana CA. They lie, cheat, steal, operate illegally, then blame you for not buying extra insurance, btw, very expensive, the move was already costing us $18,000+. They use excuses like " things get lost" "things go missing", " it's not our fault". Professional?!! My a**!!! These people need to be put out of business! I suggest Angie's list removes them immediately!! Stay away from pro movers, Sam Azar, John Rose, Gabriel, John Romero!

Kinds of services provided by moving contractors

The types of services moving companies provide can run from simple to difficult. Learn more about which types of service offerings you can expect from moving companies in Knoxville below.

  • Load, transport, and unload. This is the standard option. It typically involves pro movers with a van or truck. The moving team loads your furniture and boxes, hauls them to a new location, and unloads them. They don’t box or unpack anything or set up your items. Some companies provide this service for longer-distance moves, while most area moving services exclusively work within the region or city.
  • Pod services. Moving pods let you take a DIY slant to your move. Moving services provide you with a shipping container. You load it over time. When it’s loaded up, the moving service comes and gets it and ships it to your new place. Once there, you can offload the pod when you decide to do so.
  • Packing. Many services provide the boxes and packing materials you need for moving at an additional cost. Companies may also provide packing services, which involve residential moving contractors boxing up some or all of your things for you.
  • Unboxing services. Full-serve movers may unbox some or all of your things, making it easy to make it to your new place to see that it’s ready for habitation.
  • Assembling furniture. If you cringe at the thought of folks you don’t know touching all your things or deciding where things should be placed, you can still get some assistance setting up your new home or apartment by choosing a mover that installs or assembles your furniture.
  • Handling special items. Rare, delicate, or heavyweight items might require specialized moving services. If you need to transport a hot tub or piano, a pricey work of art, or some other rare item, ask potential moving companies how they plan to handle the item during the moving process.

Tips for finding the best moving company

Moving to a new home is about more than your trip from one home to another home; you want to make it there without hassle and the knowledge that your possessions are safe and sound. You may want to make it there and have your furniture set up already. Perhaps you’re deep in your career move and want movers to do the unpacking for you as well.

The best moving company in Knoxville can meet your needs, but you have to do a bit of work first to make certain you hire the best moving service for you. Make time to obtain answers to some important questions prior to booking a moving date.

What options does the moving service provide?

Movers provide a wide assortment of service offerings to deliver on many moving needs. Some focus on moving within a certain city, while others offer longer-distance moving, for instance. Some movers offer complete service moving, including packing your possessions for you or setting up furnishings. Ask prospective movers about what you need and want completed to find out if the moving company is a good option.

How does the moving company charge for its services?

Costs for moving services is often a source of confusion, so be certain you understand how each moving contractor prices. Some price based on the number of boxes and the number of furniture they move, plus a specific set rate per mile. Some set prices based on the weight of everything altogether, and some might set prices based on time.

Moving contractors sometimes offer quotes and tools on their websites to provide you with some notion of customary cost ranges. Don’t consider these quotes, as the moving service may change the price to a more accurate number when you provide them with the specifics about your planned move.

Is the moving service fully insured?

Only work with movers that have proof of carrying appropriate liability insurance and coverage for their workers, their trucks and additional equipment, along with your possessions while in their care.
