First time home-buyer, finally settling down after retiring from the Army. I am still in the purchase process, and am relying heavily on the knowledge of the people I interact with. My realtor provided Bud's contact info for the inspection along with some others, and I couldn't be happier with his work. Bud was awesome. A fellow Army vet, very professional, friendly and super-smart. The house is relatively new (4 years) but he spent over 4 hours completing a thorough and meticulous inspection. On top of that, he spent an hour walking me through the house to point out all of the issues he discovered and giving me home maintenance tips. Hopefully, this will be the only time I purchase a home. But if I do end up buying another house in the Clarksville area, I'm definitely calling Z - Best Inspection Services again.

It took 4 1/2 hours and he is thorough.  Everything is printed out and pictures are taken.  Very kind, thoughtful and overall a great person. He explains everything in detail and makes sure you understand.

Bud was very professional and I got a good gut feeling of trustworthiness in speaking with him.  He is definitely confident in his work and has a lot of experience.  I am appreciative to him for taking the time to educate me (as first time home owner) on the maintenance of several items of my home.Since this was my first home inspection I am really unsure of how to rate this business but let me tell you why I rated his service a "C".After moving into my home I discovered two deficiencies which I felt should have been caught during the inspection.  1.  The laundry room's dryer vent goes down into the crawl space and is channeled out to a vent on the other side.  When I went to clean the room (prior to the delivery of my appliances) I noticed the hole that was cut out for the dryer vent was just a hole on the floor.  You could see some of it coming from underneath but the space was too tight.Long story short when I went underneath the crawl space is was evident that the previous tenant let all of the dryer vent just blow into the crawl space and there was lint all over the place down there (which I'm gonna have to pay to have cleaned).  This is not good because it can turn into mold plus it gets into the ventilation.2.  When Home Depot came out to install my new appliances, in particular the dishwasher, the technician showed me that the wire for the dishwasher and garbage disposal had been fused together which is not allowed by building code due to safety.  The electrical box indicated that they were both connected together on the breaker box so this should have also been an easy catch.Like I said, this is my first purchase and also first time using a home inspector.  There were a lot of things he found and the Seller's fixed.  Everyone is human and I expect people to make mistakes but I also feel that as a customer I am paying for an inspection so I don't have any surprises after buying a house.So because of that I would not recommend to friends or family nor would I use their services again for the future.   I did not contact him because I just didn't see any sense in it. I already fixed one of the problems and am working on getting the electrical fixed this week.I wish Angie's List had more information on home inspection services in the area because there aren't any google reviews or etc.. for any in the area.
