We repair and/or refinish bathroom fixtures (example: tubs, sinks, etc) We also perform tub conversions for elderly and/or disabled loved ones.If getting in and out of the bathtub is not a problem, but the cleanliness and appearance are the problem, we at Like New Tub can help you with that as well. Unlike a tub liner, that can become a bacterial oasis , trapping water between it and the original tub, causing more damage over time than you started with, refinishing is similar to auto restoration. We will do exactly as our name implies, make your tub look like new, for approximately a ¼ of the cost of replacing, and cutting the time table to approximately 1 day, with the rare exception. We give FREE estimates. We are insured. We have references. We provide care & maintenance instructions, and a warranty. We travel to surrounding counties and beyond when needed. We also repair and refinish sinks, and tile. We accept cash or checks, and have gift certificates available. We have 29 years of experience in this industry. With Tennessee Tub and Volunteer Tub. We believe strongly in the golden rule. We are a locally owned, and operated family business.

American Home Design is a locally-owned and operated family business. Founded in 1977 on the basis of high quality home improvement. Our success has come from customer referrals- people like yourself, who buy our products and recommend us to others. Among the reasons for so many referrals are: No hidden costs, quality work, craftsmanship, and dependable service. Our customers feel they get extra value for their dollars. We look forward to helping you with your home improvement project.

"In my opinion, this has been one of the worst experiences with ever dealing with a contractor. The first installers that showed up not only broke glass from windows several times but also smoked cigarettes while my windows were out. One also ended up being so careless that glass and cut his leg ended in an ER visit. At that time, I had a window in my upstairs that was exposed to the outside elements. When speaking with customer service and also the manager of the installers they could not give me a time when they could get another installer out and stated that it could be several days before people are finished with other jobs before they could get to mine. They covered my window with thin plastic and spray foam. I thought I was being reasonable by asking them just to come and install the one window and that the job did not have to be finished that day or over the weekend. When speaking with her, the customer service manager stated that they did not know if they could accommodate having someone come off another job to install one window that exposed my house to the elements and also didn't know when they could get someone else to come to finish. This was hours after the incident. After that, the service manager told me he would call me by the end of the day to let me know if he could have an installer come over the next day but wasn't 100% sure and stated that it could be next week. At this time, I told them this was unacceptable and that I needed someone to at least come and fix the one window either today or tomorrow. By them not being able to give me a timeline my tenant had to cancel his out-of-town travels as he did not feel safe leaving his belongings exposed. The following day I got a call stating that a crew was on their way, which made me happy. But the installer that came was by himself, and even though he did a great job, my tenant living at my property had to help him carry the windows up the stairs, and also had to use my ladder to help him off the roof. When speaking with customer service, I told them that this was unacceptable that tenant and had to help with the job. They went on to only make excuses in a rude manner and told me that he probably chose to do that in, which he did because over the weekend, we had various storms coming, so he did not want to be in the same situation as before and had the elements outside damage the inside of my property. When seeking compensation, they told me that "life happens" and they could not give any discounts for the job. In my opinion, this company does not stand for the five-star customer service they portrayed. With every phone call I was met with a questioning tone, as well as being very defensive when requesting that my exposed window be installed within the next two days."

Bathtub Restoration questions, answered by experts

Reglazing a bathtub can last as few as three years and up to 15 years. With proper application, the recoated surface is as durable as a brand-new tub. Clean your tub properly and avoid using abrasive cleaners to maintain the coating. If the weather conditions were cold or humid during resurfacing or the tub was significantly damaged, the reglazing may not last as long.

It’s substantially less expensive to reglaze a tub than to replace it. The average cost of reglazing a bathtub is between $400 and $700, but that range may be higher based on where you live and the type of tub you have. Meanwhile, if you want to replace the bathtub, you’re looking at $2,000 to $9,400, with the average close to $5,700.

While tubs are fairly sturdy, you may notice cracks or holes. This kind of damage can happen from someone accidentally dropping something heavy into the tub. You might also see damage if you drop something heavy into the tub over and over again (like your extra large bottle of body wash). While you might only notice a small dent at first, this can later turn into a crack or a hole.

Also, certain cleaners that are harmful to your tub can cause damage. And if you have a fiberglass tub, you might see cracks if it was not installed properly with the right support.

A chipped bathtub could leak over time if you don’t take care of the issue. A tiny chip isn’t a big deal but may eventually grow into a larger crack. As the months go by, the tub’s barrier against moisture becomes weakened, making it prone to leaking. Large chips can also cause the tub to rust and even crack in half.

When buying caulk, look for ones labeled for tub and tile. These have either acrylic latex or silicone compounds. This allows the caulk to stick to smooth surfaces and prevent mildew from forming.
