"I’m devoting the time to write this positive review because of Jordan Pankey and the AFS crew that took care of my family’s crawlspace water issues. We purchased a new home in 2022 and learned after living here for 6 months that we had significant (over 2’ of standing water) water issues in our crawlspace. You can see the videos of the water we found in Feb. The home was covered under a builder’s warranty; thus, we gave them first opportunity to fix the issue. No luck! After living through several failed attempts and continuing to see my crawlspace flood, I couldn’t take it anymore and asked to bring in a professional. As someone who was ignorant to water issues, I brought four waterproofing companies to my home to give me an assessment and quote. All four had a great reputation, online reviews, and overall I felt any one of the four could have improved my water problem from where I was at. I went with AFS for the following reasons: • Jordan Pankey: He was hands down the most professional, knowledgeable, and responsive sales representative that I worked with. I’m a very detailed oriented person and regularly had questions pop up in my head. Throughout the day/week/weekend, I would text or call Jordan and he would answer. In a world where it seems you have to chase contractors for help, I couldn’t have been more impressed with Jordan. • Lifetime warranty for the structure of the home: In my case, my home will always have to combat water and it was important to me to pick a solution that offered a lifetime warranty for the structure of the home – not one that says “lifetime” but the fineprint defines it as 25 years. Someday when I’m gone, whether it is my kids or a complete stranger living in this home, I’m pleased to know their water issues will be taken care of. • Reputation/Credibility: AFS’ Google reviews, A+ BBB rating, and past awards (e.g., Angi 2022 Super Service Award) are all indicators of a company who consistently performs at a high level with a high degree of customer satisfaction. With as big of a job a full French drain and encapsulation was going to be, I wasn’t interested in rolling the dice with a smaller, new company. • Quality of the material: AFS’ recommended parts and supplies were exponentially greater than their competition. For example, the encapsulation thickness was 120 mil when most of their competitors are 1/6th of that. Why? The thicker encapsulation not only prevents rips and tears from occurring, but it also helps provide a control environment for the humidity and temperature to be controlled. Both of these help with the comfort of the home upstairs; energy saving. • Fairly Priced: With the aforementioned accolades and quality of material, I was pleasantly surprised that AFS wasn’t the most expensive solution I got an offer on. They were in the middle and fairly priced. To the onsite crew DJ, Cyrus, Nick, and Aaron – Thank you. Over the two days, this AFS crew was at my house and finished the French drain and full encapsulation. Both days they busted their butt and didn’t leave without being sweaty and dirty from head to toe. This is hard work, and I greatly appreciate the time and attention you spent to take care of our home. My family can now rest at night and enjoy hearing the rain drops on our roof and not worry about flooding."

"The representative who initially came to the house to explain BDry's procedure was very courteous and professional. I received a quote on the spot. I had two other companies come out (one company did not even bother to get back to me with an estimate). Each company had a different opinion of what needed to be done and BDry's procedure was the least invasive and made the most sense. The team who actually did the work was very courteous and stayed until the job was done - a 12 hour process. (That was one question I didn't think to ask - approximately how long would it take) They communicated with us throughout the day, for example they asked where we wanted the sump pump to drain, instead of just making the decision. Overall, I am very happy we chose BDry.!"

Clearing typically takes 1-2 hours, depending on the blockage size and location.
Professional plumbers use many high-grade chemicals to unclog drains. Many use hydrochloric acid, known as muriatic acid, when it comes to extreme blockages.
Never pour used motor oil down the drain. Doing so can have serious environmental consequences, including contaminating groundwater, endangering animals, and killing vegetation. It can also clog your pipes, causing backups in your plumbing or the wastewater treatment plant. In most places, pouring motor oil down the drain is illegal, whether you do it in your home or a storm drain.
No. You should never pour old paint down a drain or sewer because it can clog pipes and pollute the environment. You must dispose of paint properly and safely. Different types of paint need to be disposed of in different ways—oil-based paints must be taken to a paint recycling center, while you can throw dried-out water- or latex-based paints in the garbage.
French drains may fail when they become clogged with soil granules that slip through the pores of the landscaping fabric and through the holes in the pipe.
Over time, this debris can build up inside the pipe and prevent water flow. To prevent this failure from happening, regularly flush out your French drain and keep debris away from the inlet grate.
