"We were very pleased with Connelly Flooring. Travis was responsive, returned phone calls, text messages and emails. They started project when it was scheduled, showed up on time, cleaned up after themselves, and kept us informed of progress. Travis had creative flooring ideas and completed the project to our high expectations. We had some issues with materials that were unrelated to Connelly Flooring, and Travis and his wife helped us work through the issues and saw the project through to the end. The workmanship from Connelly's Flooring is second to none. We highly recommend them for your flooring needs."

"Rylen was responsive and and showed up within a couple of hours to review my project and provide an estimate. Within a day of my acceptance he purchased and delivered supplies and started work. The project was completed within his estimate, his work is precise and meticulous. He cleaned up and left the area neater and cleaned than than it was when he started."

"Karen is awesome! Resurfaced my kitchen countertop with epoxy resin saving me money! She made sample boards for my approval. I now have heat resistant and food safe countertops . She also did my bathtub with epoxy. She totally transformed my Airbnb for my guests to enjoy. I am very pleased with counter tops by design and Karen! I would highly recommend her ."

"Once I sent her all the measurements, it took her a little while to get the options back to me.  Overall, they're good designs.  However, they're very simplistic and give general ideas for space planning.  I was hoping to have a better idea for sizes of furniture for the space and some variations on staging.
Jill was very responsive when I did have a question.  I'm not sure how helpful it is to have a virtual design done.  If we lived in similar cities, I'd probably use her again for help with additional designs.

"Curt helped us out on the fly with removing snow from our driveway when no one else would do it. He was professional and nice to chat with. Curt works fast and hard but never skimps on the details. I would recommend him for any handyman type job. Pricing is very reasonable for the market and the quality of work is worth it."

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

Yes, tiling a bathroom is a great way to boost your home's value, especially if you are replacing old or dated flooring. Adding a new tile floor can deliver a return on investment (ROI) of around 56.4%, with some projects offering up to 100% ROI. Buyers appreciate new tile because it provides a modern look and is known for being durable, water-resistant, low-maintenance, and easy to clean. For the best results and highest return, consider hiring a professional, as tiling mistakes can be very noticeable and detract from the value.

Yes, it’s possible to cut tile without a wet saw; instead, you can use an angle grinder, a glass cutter, a snap cutter, tile nippers, or a rotary tool with a tile-cutting blade. A manual tile cutter or snap cutter works well for the larger tiles that wet saws are typically used for, while smaller projects might just require nippers or a glass cutting wheel. If you’re working with large quantities of tile, however, power tools are best.

Porcelain countertops have a fairly long life span, sometimes lasting for decades. Depending on how much wear and tear you put your countertops through, it could last 25 to 50 years. But be warned, porcelain is also prone to cracking, so as long as you take good care of it, you’ll have those countertops looking brand new for years to come.

On average, tiling a bathroom involves about 12 hours of labor, usually spread over two to three days to accommodate prep work and curing times. A professional tiler can often complete the installation in 6 to 8 hours, whereas a DIYer might take 10 to 16 hours. The total project time is influenced by factors like the bathroom layout, tile type, and necessary prep work, such as removing old tile. The process includes specific timelines for different areas; for example, tiling a floor takes about six hours, while a shower area can take six to ten hours. It is essential to allow for adequate curing time—typically 24 hours each—for the mortar, grout, and caulk, which is why the project extends over several days.

You cannot tile directly over hot mop waterproofing because tile requires a smooth, solid surface to adhere properly. Additionally, the shower bed pan needs to be raised and sloped toward the drain to prevent water from pooling. However, you can hot mop and apply a sloped mortar bed over the top (to which the tile can then be adhered).
