"This is the third time we have used Renewal by Anderson. We replaced some windows the first time that did not open and replaced them with sliding windows. The second time they replaced some crank out windows with sliding ones that matched the first ones. The third time they came and replaced our entrance door that didn't work properly with a ensemble entry door with and entry code for security. That's why my title is what it is because every time from the sales visit, to the ordering, to the installation, to the quality of the product, to the follow up, everything has been top notch. If you are considering an upgrade, give them a call."
"Got a great deal on equipment through Angies List. Tech was very helpful and took the time to answer questions and customize package to best meet our security needs."
"The job went very smoothly. The tech ran a bit late, but he called to say so. He installed a keypad by the front door and assessed the house for security. He suggested, since there are several casement windows in the living room and adjoining dining room that a breaking glass sensor would work better and be more cost-effective than alarming all the windows. He did alarm a door that the previous company (inherited when we bought the house twenty-three years ago) had not considered significant. I feel safer with the current sensor choices than the ones I had before. He took the time to make sure I knew how to use the system, so I am very pleased with the service. My one caveat: I was told that the motion sensor would not register my smaller pets (two cats) because they weigh under forty pounds. They must have set off the sensor, though, because the police responded. The system certainly alerts the authorities, but that motion sensor is very sensitive! "
"The appointment was made quickly. I only had to wait 5 days. The gentleman arrived right on time. I was impressed that he removed his shoes before entering the house. He insisted on doing this, even though I told him it was not necessary. He measured the distance between the door and wall and ensured that it was even. He was neat and cleaned up everything in the room after his work. He was pleasant and did not leave until the project was done to my satisfaction. Unfortunately, the down side was that I quickly received a bill for $258. I had had a difficult time when I booked the appointment because they did not have my payment registered. I had my receipt and suddenly they found it. But the invoice after the fact was still $258.00, having not deducted the payment of $129.00. I received an invoice this morning which had been corrected but the invoice also indicated that my payment had been refused. I was angry and insulted because I have an excellent credit rating. When I called, the representative suddenly found that it had indeed been paid two hours before I got out of bed this morning. I still disagree with the additional $89 installation charge. I expected to pay for the needed materials for hanging, but I thought the advertisement for $129 was the installation price. Basically, the company accepted the advertised price of $129 but still added the difference which I wound up paying. The service was excellent; the billing department and customer service failed."
"That's the name I am vaguely familiar with; it's a home security company that is license to ADT franchise or dealer if I am correct. They were very good. They were prompt; they were quality. The individuals move their business. They were very timely and it was a good experience."

"Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."
"It was easy. No one came to my house. I answered their questions. Those answers provided them with what they needed to send me a DIY system to arm my home. Everything was explained and all seemed simple until I got the kit. Nothing was wrong with the kit, however, I was nervous that I would not line up door and window sensors correctly. Afterwards, I could not figure out why I was so hesitant and nervous. I have tripped the alarmed, was quickly contacted and false alarm cancelled."
The average cost to install a home security system is about $750. However, the price can range from as little as $200 for a simple wireless camera setup to $2,000 for a fully monitored, hardwired system. A typical price range is $280 to $1,150. Several factors determine the final cost, including the type of system, equipment, materials, labor, activation fees, monthly surveillance fees, and permits. Optional upgrades will also add to the price, such as video surveillance monitoring ($40–$65 per month), smart locks ($150), smart lighting ($15–$90), smart smoke and carbon monoxide alarms ($35–$100), and a smart thermostat ($130–$500).
Yes, it’s possible a burglar can get through a deadbolt. Some types of deadbolts are harder for an intruder to get through, though. For example, a single-cylinder lock only requires breaking a window nearby and simply turning it. While other locks, such as a double-cylinder lock, may offer greater protection and make it harder for an intruder, no deadbolt is 100 percent effective.
Although some pet doors allow easier access for burglars or stray animals, there are ways to make pet doors more secure. To increase your home’s security, choose locking or electronically activated doors, use additional motion sensor security cameras, and install pet doors on a wall where door locking mechanisms are difficult to access.
There is no “better” option, as it depends on your personal preferences and home’s needs. Wireless systems are much easier to install, making them DIY-friendly. Wired systems offer a more reliable connection that is not tied to a router, but they typically require professional installation.
You don’t need to completely revamp your security system constantly, but it’s a great idea to give it a once-over every year. Look for potential upgrades or new features—like smart home tech or replacing outdated equipment—that could boost your safety. If you make any significant changes, let your insurer know as they may adjust your discounts to reflect your improved security. Staying on top of your security not only keeps your home safe but ensures you’re getting the best possible rate on your insurance.
