"Will Brown is very professional. He showed up on time and provided a written quote. He and his crew showed up on the scheduled day and were actually early. The crew did a good job piling the remaining wood I wanted, placed the chipped wood were I wanted and even put down grass seed on the bare spots from the tree shade. Definitely will recommend Will Brown with B&B Landscaping."

Small jobs welcome

"Highly recommend GVL Landscaping. They were great with helping me make decisions about my landscape design. My front yard space has been beautifully transformed. They used quality plants and shrubs. They also came out after the project was completed to answer questions and made sure I was completely happy with everything. Will definitely use them for future landscaping needs."

"I have hired other landscapers in the past. J&I Landscaping company is the best group of workers that i have ever hired. Showed up on time at 8:15 AM and worked until 7:50 PM the same day and preparing and installing 18 pallets of sod. Other neighbors also used them and are very pleased with their work. My entire neighborhood will be hiring them."

"James did a complete overhaul of the grading, drainage and landscaping in our back yard in TR. He also expanded our irrigation system to the back yard. We live out of state, and he more than exceeded our expectations. James communicated, stayed within budget and was honest and dependable. We recommend him and his crew highly to do your landscaping job."

"Tim & his guys put in drain pipe last year for us & fixed the problem with flooding in the yard. I needed 5 hydrangeas taken out & 5 loropetalum put in, river rock added, an azalea trimmed & herbicide sprayed, so I looked up T & C Landscaping. He got the job done the day after I called him. Left my yard clean & neat. Did a great job!!"

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

Many people have used old tires in gardens as raised beds, planters, tree rings, and DIY decor. However, these uses are not recommended due to the toxicity of many of the chemicals used to manufacture tires. These chemicals can leach into the soil and water as the tire breaks down, creating environmental pollution and health hazards for gardeners and their families.

Before you begin landscaping with rocks, put down a weed barrier or landscape fabric to prevent pesky weeds from poking through.

Yes, if you are using rocks to form a pathway or driveway, it’s a good idea to first install landscape fabric before layering in your rocks. Landscape fabric is your first line of defense against unwanted grass and weeds on your rocky surface.

You should plant trees at least 15 to 20 feet away from your house, and more if the tree will grow large and spread its limbs. Trees pose several dangers to houses when planted too close. They can litter the roof with leaves and branches, create fire hazards, make a ladder for larger pests, and even damage the foundation as their roots grow.

Since you’ll likely be digging a trench to install your yard drainage system, this is a good time to complete other tasks that involve digging up your yard, including: Sprinkler system installation Lawn reseeding Regrading your yard Redesigning your landscaping If your drain is under a walkway or driveway, your contractor must also remove those materials. This is a great time to consider upgrading your hardscaping features, especially if they’re nearing the end of their life span.
