S.L.S. (Solt Landscaping Service)

I needed to have a French drain installed along the side of the house. My goal was to collect and channel the water coming down on the uphill side and thereby solve a moisture problem in the basement. Mr Solt quoted me a competitive price for the work. He showed up at the agreed time and worked hard until the job was done. I would recommend him to anybody who needs similar landscaping or drainage work to be done.

Really nice and thoughtful job. James prepared the area, spread the topsoil and laid the sod that was selected for our specific soil, land slope and amount of sun the area receives. It looks great. Thank you.

James and his team are professional and responsive. James met with me on site and together we vrain-stormed a solution to my problem that would work with my budget. Ultimately I had a RR Tie retaining wall installed and regarding of my back yard. When I asked for a tie to be switched out due to aesthetics his team did so without any complaints. When I asked them to install an additional tie-back, again..they did it with no complaints. I would hire them again without hesitation.

James wants to make his money fast and easy. Dont we all... He quoted me for a job close to 11k during a slow time for him. He said it would take a week and a half. Daily he showed up after 11, was on the property about 4 hours max, and only came 3 days a week even in good weather... 4 weeks later he was getting busier and wanted to be done with my place to make more money elsewhere. We already agreed on our price so he seemed to have no problem half-assing the rest of the job with little to no concern for quality or the consideration that he was permanently altering the value of my home to its detriment with his sloppy work. For materials, a lot of what he used appeared to be leftover supply from past jobs; paid for by other clients than paid for again by me. When he did have to buy things new he made totally wacky judgment calls without consulting me for my opinion. I had to hound him and nag to get answers. Emails and texts went essentially unread, ignored, and forgotten. He is disorganized, forgetful, have zero attention to detail, and does almost no preplanning or pre-shopping. Everything is happening on the fly so the homeowner never has a chance to see the plan (not that there is one) or give approval. He is a landscaper but agreed to do some building work for me on a simple screened enclosure that he deemed *out of his comfort zone* only after he effed it all up but offered me no kind of concession for the low-quality work. I appreciate that he tried but... the incompetence was wild; everything crooked, slapped together with random materials, and shanty-like. Here are 2 photos of what he did... finishing a patio by lining the exterior in hacked through, sloppy cuts of vinyl screen seam material?? In the end, I had to dismantle most of what he did and build it myself. My build does not look professional, but it looks 100% better than what he delivered. Even the landscaping he did was rushed and ill-considered. Full sun plants in areas of total shade and from what I can tell he did nothing to break up the soil or amend it, just dumped a tiny bit of topsoil and sparsely added pine needles. I am so very disappointed.

When he first came out he didnt understand the magnitude of the problem. There were some issues with the initial construction of the french drain but James came out immediately and corrected the this. He did a really good job and I appreciate it, it looks fantastic!

SLS did a fantastic job installing a stone paver patio for us. They were punctual and professional and left us with a very attractive outside space. We will definitely use them again for future projects.

James and his crew did a good job laying sod in my backyard. Reasonable fair price and showed up when they said they would. Also gave me information and tips what to do with me new yard. Fixed a leak I had for my irrigation system on top of that. Definitely will contact them if I need more work done or if I know someone that does.

What he said he would do was contrary to the work. Diverted from the plan in every aspect. The first rain caused several issues. Puddling/ flooding due to improper sloping/grading, trip hazard on walkway (3 to 4 inch drop off; also sloppy cuts. Dispersing in flower bed causing erosion and a mess vs to the street as planned

I was very happy with their service & when I needed extra work done they were more than happy to do what was asked!
