"I have been using them for years. I ended up having to get a new system. Of Course I had to get a couple of prices just to see what options I had. And as always Professional came through. They have always worked with me and have always been decent priced. I have used several different techs from there company, all our great. My Favorite by far is Ray. I seen there was a negative review and just can't believe it. TRUST me you can't go wrong by using them. There office manager is always a delight to talk to and very willing to help you out."

Fireplaces questions, answered by experts

When your wood stove catalyst goes bad, it can cause your stove to produce less heat or run slower than normal. You might also notice thick black smoke coming out of your chimney. If you notice any of these signs, contact a professional who installs wood-burning stoves and repairs them for an inspection and fix.

To maintain a stove, clean the stove, chimney, or vent regularly. You should also use seasoned wood or pellets. Schedule an annual professional inspection to ensure safety.

Chimney caps may be installed by a few different professionals, including a chimney sweep or a mason that specializes in fireplaces and chimneys. A gas fireplace technician is the best person to install a chimney cap on a gas log fireplace vent to be sure the cap is appropriate for the application.

While you have some flexibility in the types of wood you can use in your outdoor furnace, it's important to make wise choices for optimal performance and efficiency. Hardwoods, such as oak, maple, and cherry, are generally recommended for their higher energy content and cleaner burn. These hardwoods produce more heat per volume and tend to produce fewer creosote deposits, which can accumulate and cause a chimney fire, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

The cost to replace a chimney is about $10,000 on average and can cost up to $15,000, depending on the size, accessibility, materials, and extent of the replacement. Sometimes tearing the chimney down to the roof line and rebuilding it is an option. But if the chimney's internal structure deteriorates badly enough, a complete demolition down to the fireplace or the foundation may be necessary.
