The best driveway cleaner for oil stains depends on the type of surface and the severity of the stain. An absorbent abrasive like baking soda works for many circumstances. By following up the baking soda with a white vinegar rinse, you can increase the effectiveness and ideally remove the stain for good. Concrete oil stains may respond better to oil stain removers designed specifically for concrete if the stain is tough to remove with at-home ingredients.

You can clean light stains off of concrete using a pressure washer with 2,000 psi, or you can clean tougher stains if you use a smaller nozzle and point the wand closer to the stain. You may also need to go over the surface more than once for a deeper clean. If you want to clean concrete faster, consider using a pressure washer with a psi of 3,000 or higher.

If your garage floor is heavily soiled or stained, then it’s a good idea to powerwash it with a concrete cleaner before sealing. This process will remove dirt and debris to help the new sealer bond to the concrete properly, and it will also improve the look of your sealed garage floor. After power washing your floor, make sure you let the concrete dry completely before applying sealant, usually for 24 to 48 hours.

Excavators work in tandem with dump trucks to haul away excess dirt and soil. The excavator will dig into the ground and move the excess dirt into a pile. For pressure washing a driveway, a PSI (pounds per square inch) between 2,000 and 3,000 is recommended for both concrete and asphalt surfaces. A pressure of 3,000 PSI is ideal for deep cleaning without causing damage, effectively removing debris, dirt stains, and even oil spills. If your pressure washer has a lower PSI rating, you can still use it, but the cleaning process will take longer. For a more efficient and even clean, consider using a surface cleaner attachment.
