Water Heater - Repair or Service - For Business
$552
No hot water. Called them from Massachusetts. My father in law met plumber at house as my wife works at Ft Jackson full time. Plumber was supposed to diagnose water heater and give me options. I chose the cheapest one $552 to replace heating element. He did not check thermostats or anything else. He said unit had a leak and may be rusted out. Total rebuild was $750 and replace whole unit north of $2500. I asked if work was warranted. He said part and his work warranted . Hot water returned for just over 24 hours then went cold again. I called them back and he wanted $75 to come out and said I chose cheapest option ($552) and so what did I expect. I said your work failed in just over 24 hours. He kept reciting 3 options like a parrot. Was clear to me that he did not care about us the customer and I should have got the most expensive option. . Would not recommend this company to any one . They only care about how much you will pay and are not concerned about you , the custom.

Drain still clogged. Wouldn't come back unless I put a credit card on file. Plumbing hasn't changed in years but they are telling me to spend $1700+ to fix the problem. Called another plumber. Drain is unplugged. Not ethical. Expensive but money wasn't the issue.

Jordan and Sons are the absolute best. They have been our plumber of choice since we moved to Florence in 2006. They are extremely professional. Their work is second to none. As a homeowner, I have two choices. I can pay now or pay later. Also, you get what you pay for. We have never had an issue with any of the work that was performed by Jordan and Sons. We had a hot water tank installed a few years ago. It works great. I will always call Jordan and Sons. Job well done! Five stars! Scott Lamparski Florence, SC

I am extremely disappointed with their outrageous pricing. The charge to come out a diagnose the problem was $65. I was told that the P-Catch underneath the sink needed to be cleaned and that the cost would be $311. I was further told that they do not charge by the hour but by the job. I asked the technician if he could do anything about the cost or call his manager who could do something about the cost and the answer was no. I ended up sending him away and will never use this plumbing company.

Repair price was very, very, very inflated (example: fill valve installation was $173.50. I could have bought the part and installed it myself for around $20.00). They did several other things at a very high cost. They even charged me $285.09 for a second worker to come help out the original repairman. That cost should not have been imposed on me, I don't care if they had to send three or four guys to complete the job. I complained but to no avail. Will not be using them again nor will I recommend them to anyone

They fix the problem, most of the time.  They charge alot and sell you on their contracts and other things to clean your plumbing.  They are about double any other plumber.

They were prompt, he came and got the job done quickly. H had the clogged bathroom sink fixed within a hour. He didn't make any mess in the house and the price was fair. We live in a old house and our drains sometimes get roots stuck in them. He walked outside a little bit and then came in and replaced some pipes. We don't have the modern pipes we have older ones and the metal pipes get weak and what happens is that the tree roots can get into the pipes.

A- overall grade.  The repair took three visits total.  First, a visit to estimate the cost.  Then a few days later two technicians came to repair the leak and replace the knobs and shower head.  The shower head never worked acceptably, so we called them to come back and replace the head with one we bought from Lowe's (at no additional charge).  We were very pleased with the service, promptness and courtesy.  The technician who did the final repair, Brad, was especially helpful.  We were happy that Jordan did not try to charge us to replace the faulty shower head.  Overall, although the charge seemed high, we were very happy with the service we received and will contact them again in the future if need be.  Folks, you get what you pay for.

They had to go through the roof to the pipe in the roof and had to go down about 120 – 150 feet to do the job. I rate them highly. I would use them again in the future.

My experience has been good.  I've used them twice.  Other than being overpriced, which is typical of plumbers, I'd say they did a great job.

We had what appeared to be a foundation leak. J&S used test equipment to "verify" that it was indeed a foundation leak. They dug through the concrete foundation of one of our bedrooms just to find later that the leak was in a wall. Of course, I?with help from my insurance company--ended up paying for digging up the foundation and then fixing the foundation. I also paid for opening the wall and fixing the leak at exorbitant rates. They also had to break through a tiled shower in an adjacent bathroom to get access to the component that was leaking. I repaired this shower myself since J&S wanted an additional several thousand dollars to fix the tile they broke out. The leak was caused by a T-fitting that cost less than a dollar; however, this turned out to be a $4,000 fix for me, not including my costs in having to rebuild a tiled shower, tiling a bedroom floor (J&S pulled the original carpet and destroyed it in the process of them gaining access to the foundation), clearing a bedroom of furniture, and cleaning up all the concrete dust (LOTS!) caused by them cutting through the foundation, which proved to be completely unnecessary. This whole process took well over a month and a half to complete and required that I become a virtual prisoner of my own house for the duration. While J&S was very courteous and professional in their demeanor, they are insanely expensive and their quality of work is at best average. I even had to call them back out to re-accomplish filling the large concrete hole they had dug through the foundation since the concrete had settled quite some amount after the initial pouring. I will not use them again. I recommend avoiding this business.

The gentleman arrived after 5. Told him I had all toilets on first floor clogged and shower backing up. He checked all toilets and the shower and stated that he would need to use a "snake" to clear it out. He sat down and wrote up the estimate and stated that he could come back later to run a camera up into my plumbing and tell me if I had any major problems anywhere. I accepted that offer. It took him 3 trips into the house to check the plumbing after "snaking" until he was satisfied that the line was clear. He didn't leave until after 7PM.

The company responded immediately, were on time, and the technician was a friendly young man. I fully realize professional repairs are based on WHAT they do and what they know, not just time, but the $542 total seems outrageous. Yes, the price was what they estimated, but, when you're out of water, you don't start over in the middle of the job. As I said, I've recommended this firm to others over the years, but, they are now OFF MY LIST.
