Customers say: True professional

"The Normans provided an excellent product (concrete driveway and French drain) at a reasonable price. Unexpected issues with wire in the old concrete and a sudden severe rainstorm on the freshly poured concrete were handled professionally and without complaint, leaving a well done project. In addition, all the members of this family business were a pleasure to know. We highly recommend Tracy Norman?s Concrete"

"We had a major drainage problem at the end of our driveway and International Green came over on a Sunday to look at our problem. I don’t know of any other contractor that would have taken time on a Sunday to help a prospective customer but they did! Fernando was awesome. The level of service was amazing, ripped out my entire driveway, installed a drainage system under ground and installed stamped cement. The entire job was completed in less than 2 weeks. Our driveway has been completed 4 days now and NO water. The first time ever since we purchased the home 4 months ago. I would highly recommend them to everyone. We are extremely grateful and now are able to enjoy our home!"

"Chris Lipfert did an amazing job putting up our split rail fence. The start of the job was hindered by snowfall but as soon as the snow melted he was here to work and managed to finish in the timeframe he originally stated. We also hired him to do a yard clean within the area of the new fencing. To say the area was a mess would be an understatement. So much overgrown stuff, brush, small trees, etc. We feel that he gave us a great price for the 2 jobs. He also went over above with the number and size of trees that he removed along the way. We do plan to hire him again when we're ready to tackle the front yard. Thanks Chris."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Myrtle Beach homeowners should watch for standing water after rain, white salt buildup, or weeds sprouting through cracks—these are early signs of water intrusion. Alligator cracking, rutting, or loose gravel often indicate underlying base issues, especially with sandy soils. If cracks widen after storms or soft spots develop, address them promptly to prevent major driveway repair needs before hurricane season arrives.

Helpful?

Asphalt paving in Myrtle Beach can change how water drains around your property, potentially impacting foundations, irrigation, or sump pump systems. Grading adjustments might redirect runoff toward your home or disrupt underground lines. Before starting, review your property layout and discuss possible impacts with your contractor to ensure stormwater management and utility safety are maintained in this coastal environment.

Helpful?

In Myrtle Beach, if over 30% of your driveway shows cracking, or if it’s older than 15 years, full asphalt paving may be necessary. Faded color or hairline cracks often just need sealcoating. Persistent soft spots or pooling water suggest drainage or base repairs are needed. If cracks reach your home’s foundation or repairs don’t last, consult a local paving specialist for a thorough assessment.

Helpful?

For Myrtle Beach, choose hot mix asphalt with a binder suited for coastal climates and a crushed stone base for stability. Use acrylic or coal tar sealers to protect against salt and sun exposure. Porous asphalt and geotextile fabric help with drainage in sandy soils. Ensure a minimum 2% slope for runoff, and schedule paving in spring or fall for optimal asphalt maintenance and longevity.

Helpful?

In Myrtle Beach, tackle small cracks under ¼ inch with a rubberized filler and use cold-patch asphalt for potholes less than 2 feet wide, working during cooler, dry weather to avoid rapid setting. Always wear gloves, safety glasses, and a mask for dust. Before starting, confirm your repairs won’t affect drainage or local guidelines, and if you notice spreading damage, seek expert asphalt maintenance help.
