"It was perfect! They had to replace butcher block countertops that had been incorrectly installed by another company. They came out and gave an estimate and had samples of wood to choose from and gave options for the installation on the edges, etc. They show up when they are scheduled to for all appointments and they explain what they are going to do and how to care for the counters after installation. Exceptional people to work with!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!"

Customers say: Quick response

"My wife and I bought a house that had old oak cabinets that were in pretty rough shape. We weren't quite ready to take the plunge into a full remodel so opted for more of a "facelift" by painting the kitchen cabinets off-white and adding new hardware. Having some experience painting I knew this job was going to be far too tedious and time intensive for me to undertake so we looked into hiring it out to professionals that specialized in this type of project. Luckily enough I knew a good friend of mine had recently had a similar project done and he could not recommend "Project Paint" highly enough, promising me that my kitchen would look "brand new" and boy was he right! From start to finish the process with Todd & Gwen was smooth and painless. We received a seemingly reasonable estimate quickly over email and they even came out to do a site visit at my request so we could go over some of the more disastrous areas of our kitchen and Todd confirmed he would be able to work with my issues no problem. Todd & Gwen continued to be great in answering any questions I had leading up to the project start date and were extremely patient with our delayed start date. Once the project started I was extremely impressed with their crew, particularly the crew lead, Amanda. Amanda was extremely courteous, professional & accommodating with everything from moving my fridge for me to hinge adjustments. Not only that but Amanda, Todd & the rest of the crew worked crazy FAST! The project timeline went like this: Day 1, they took all the cabinet doors off and were out of the house in less than 40 minutes. Day 2 was spent prepping the kitchen and I was shocked by how much painstaking attention to detail they put into sanding, caulking, masking & taping every inch of the kitchen, it was at that point I knew we made a great decision and hired true professionals. Day 3, much to my surprise I came home to a brand spanking new kitchen, I could honestly not believe the transformation! Of course there were a few minor touch-ups needed but Amanda came over promptly the next day and knocked everything out in less that an hour. I am extremely pleased that I hired Project Paint to paint our kitchen cabinets and could not recommend them highly enough!"

"Rodrigo with GABA Contractors completed our kitchen, laundry room, & powder room renovation last year and did an excellent job. The project consisted of demo, new drywall/paint, tile/LVT flooring, trim, wood paneling, misc. electrical work. It was completed on schedule and within our budget. The quality of the work and dedication to meeting our needs was top notch. Highly recommend Rodrigo and we plan to do more work with him in the future!"

Kitchen Cabinet Refacing questions, answered by experts

Any of your garage shelves should be able to hold heavier loads, but it’s best to place heavier items on middle shelves. The only reason for this is to prevent injury—lifting heavy loads from down low requires squatting or bending over, which can lead to back injury, and lifting heavy loads off of high shelves in the garage can be especially dangerous if you drop them.

Yes, soft-close drawers are quick and simple to add to a refacing project. Get in touch with a kitchen cabinet refacing contractor for an estimate. In many cases, your cabinet contractor or repair person can bundle the cost of upgrading your cabinets to soft-close drawers into the total bill of your project. They may even offer a discount for combining these services, but you’ll need to shop around for the best deal.

Yes, refacing old kitchen cabinets is doable as long as the cabinet boxes are still structurally sound. Refacing works best when the framework is in good condition, allowing you to update the doors, drawer fronts, and exterior surfaces without a full replacement.

If you're looking for ways to save money on custom cabinets, there are a few ways to cut costs without sacrificing beauty. For starters, comparing door styles to choose the most cost-effective option is a great way to save money on the overall project.

In addition, choosing a common wood species versus an exotic one will lower the price. Woods like oak and hickory are often more affordable wood choices, and the same goes for knobs, pulls, and other finishes where picking a commonly available style can reduce costs.

No, in most cases, you do not have to remove your countertops to reface cabinets. Since refacing primarily involves updating the doors, drawer fronts, and exterior surfaces, your existing countertops can usually stay right where they are, making the process quicker and less disruptive. However, if your counters prevent the access needed to remove doors and drawers, they may need to be temporarily removed. It's best to consult with a professional cabinet contractor to assess your specific kitchen layout during an estimate.
