"Hunter and his team (Dad plus a helper) did a great job of getting the house clean. They were courteous, professional, very timely with communications and on time. The results are fabulous. Everything looks great and this house is ready to go on the market looking it's best. Hunter had never sealed driveway cracks before after the wash, but was willing to give it a try. It came out great!"

"

It was really nice to work with a contractor who immediately returned your phone calls and showed up when he said he would. John started the job on the date he indicated he would and finished pretty much on schedule except for a few weather related days. Cleaning was of particular concern to us because of the potential for overspray into the pool and surrounding landscaping. John was very careful and there were no issues at all. He did a quality job and the paint job looks terrific. He's a nice guy and I would not hesitate to recommend him to others

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Routine cleaning, sealing/staining, and inspection prolong deck life and appearance.

It depends on the type of wood. The average cost to build a deck out of pressure-treated lumber is $15 to $25 per square foot, but more affordable varieties such as bamboo and cedar cost less at around $3 to $10 per square foot. However, when comparing the cost of vinyl decking versus wood decking, it’s important to also consider ongoing maintenance costs. For example, most woods require regular sealing to keep them protected against weather and rot.

When building an outdoor or deck gate, it's crucial to use durable wood that can withstand harsh weather conditions like sunlight, rain, wind, and snow. Redwood and cedar are excellent choices as they naturally resist decay. While redwood is considered more elegant, cedar is a more affordable option. Other suitable woods include oak and pressure-treated pine, which is specifically treated to resist rot. Although some softwoods like pine are popular, untreated softwoods such as pine and spruce should generally be avoided for outdoor projects because they are susceptible to damage from water, rot, and the sun. Ultimately, it's wise to consider your local climate when selecting the right wood for your gate.

To prepare a deck for a hot tub, start by thinking about safe and easy access in and out of the tub. Homeowners should plan for steps or consider built-in seating, a level surface around the perimeter, and a clear, slip-resistant path from the house. A hot tub requires sufficient space around it for comfortable entry and exit, ensuring no awkward squeezing or stepping over high edges. Good lighting and handrails can also make a big difference, especially for nighttime use.

Pressure-treated wood contains preservatives that give the material internal protection from rot and pests. Untreated lumber won’t last more than a few years unless you choose a more expensive wood, like cedar, that naturally stands up well to moisture. Composite decking can outlast wood but is more expensive and doesn’t look as natural. Keep in mind that you’ll need to seal any exterior wood product to protect it from the elements and other forms of external damage.
