"This is one of the best companies I've ever worked with! They are punctual, polite, and very professional. They pressure washed our house and driveway, cleaned the gutters and downspouts, cleaned all of our windows - inside and out and sanded and stained our deck. Their price was very reasonable and their work is excellent. They had a challenge due to all the rain we got but they worked around it and communicated to me every step of the way. They were a pleasure to work with and I'll use them again and recommend them to everyone I know!!"

"He’s very skilled and so easy to work with. We started by having him install new light fixtures. He was so good that we called him when we had water damage to put in new ceilings in the basement, repair a wall, install new flooring. Then he redid our deck."

Mike and his men worked for a very long day and did a very thorough job. I could not believe how clean everything was after they finished. After all the rain we have had there was black and green mold and mildew everywhere, and now the paint and concrete look new. They cleaned all the windows, too. Even the very old driveway looks great.

Mike gave me lots of advice about painting the deck and concrete under the carport, and pointed out a couple of small repairs that I needed to make to my house. He could not have been nice nicer.

If you want a very complete pressure washing job, I think that this is the company to go with.

Deck Maintenance questions, answered by experts

The best direction for a gate to swing depends on its location and purpose, but swinging inward is the general rule. An inward swing is often considered safer, prevents the gate from opening into public spaces like a sidewalk, and may be required by local building codes.

There are exceptions and specific considerations. If your property is on a slope, an inward swing might not be possible. For a deck gate, it's safest to have it swing away from any steps. In a backyard, the direction can be a matter of preference, though an inward swing can be helpful when carrying heavy items like a wheelbarrow into a garden.

Regardless of direction, ensure the gate can open fully without hitting any objects or blocking spaces. While an inward swing is standard, a gate that can swing both in and out offers the most flexibility if your setup allows for it.

It is possible to build your own deck, but it’s typically better to leave the work to a decking professional. Decks can be exceptionally complicated, especially if you want a wrap-around or second-story deck, and you don’t want to risk making an expensive or dangerous mistake. It’s usually better to hire a decking pro who can pull permits and build a structurally sound deck that will last for decades and provide the maximum return on investment.

In most cases, your deck will need some form of deck footing to hold it in place, preventing moisture from rotting your wood and decreasing your deck’s lifespan. Concrete deck blocks are the most common type of footing for floating decks. Some homeowners use ground-level deck footings. For added security, consider digging and laying your ground-level footings below ground.

Yes, Ipe wood is a popular high-end choice for pool decking. It repels water and is naturally slip-resistant. It's not susceptible to mold, mildew, or rot, either, so it lasts longer and is cleaner and more hygienic than other popular decking materials. However, remember that due to its status, it is a very high-cost wood, and you might find that an alternative would serve you just as well for significantly less.

You can add a roof to most decks, but you need to have it inspected first. If your deck didn’t come with a roof initially, it may not be able to handle the weight without some structural changes. You can add additional supports to your existing deck to safely add a roof, and tying your deck’s roof to an exterior wall can help add some structural stability, but remember these aren’t DIY projects and need to be left to a pro.
