Mice hate the smell of menthol, so peppermint, spearmint, and eucalyptus oils are great for repelling them. The smell of bergamot, cloves, and cinnamon also repulses them. These scents work best to keep mice away if they are applied daily and in concentrated form, like essential oils.

To freeze bed bugs, they’ll need to be exposed to very low temperatures of 0 degrees Fahrenheit or lower for at least 4 days. You can use a remote thermostat to determine when the infested item reaches 0 degrees. Keep in mind that bed bug professionals have the high-quality tools and equipment needed to eradicate bugs using extreme cold, so it’s best to hire a pro for this method.

Even if you have extreme ophidiophobia (fear of snakes), don’t try to shoot or kill them with a shovel. Besides being pretty cruel, killing snakes in most states is illegal unless your life is at risk and many species are protected.
