"I had to Waite 4 months for delivery from Home Depot®️™️October 2020. Delivery was on February 2021. I'm not Knocking the Home Depot®️™️ it was COVID. Anyway, Freeman Gas hooked me right up. Fast, friendly, courteous service. I know it sounds cliché, but I wouldn't be writing this if it weren't true. Be well and stay blessed my friend..."

Family locally owned & operated. Additional address - PO Box 101, Landrum, SC 29356.

"We contacted these people to give us a quote on a job, and they started the job without our permission, consent, or signature. Their doing this has cost our job and our company a lot of money, and now these people are demanding payment for a job that we did not permit them to do. I spoke with the owner, Daniel, over the phone, and he was very aggressive and rude and even made me feel like he was intimidating me by some of the things he was saying on a recorded line. They have made numerous threats to contact our customer and submit an invoice to them. I would like to stress again that we did not give these people any kind of permission to do this job. The man even admitted on a recorded line that he got me confused with someone else who gave him authorization to start a job, but now these people are submitting invoices to us and demanding money from us."

Gas Logs questions, answered by experts

Capping a gas line costs approximately $125. The final price varies from $75 and $150 depending on your contractor’s hourly rate. To completely remove a gas line and cap it at the base can cost up to $250. Most contractors will charge a flat fee instead of by the hour since capping is often part of a larger project.

No, homeowners should never attempt to fix a gas leak themselves. Gas leaks pose serious health and fire hazards. Exposure to leaking gas can make you sick, and accumulated gas can ignite and explode. So always take leaks seriously and seek the help of a pro right away. While you may be able to detect a gas leak, always call a licensed professional to handle repairs and replacements.

No, you shouldn’t leave a gas line uncapped because it can allow gas to escape into your environment, which can lead to fires, explosions, and health hazards. That’s why it’s critical to properly cap and seal any unused gas lines as soon as you can. If you’re not comfortable with that, you can always call a licensed plumber to safely handle it for you.

The cost of repairing a gas leak depends on the type of leak, its severity, and how difficult it is for the repair technician to reach it. Some of the most common gas line repair costs, on average, include:

  • Cap a gas line: $75–$150

  • Gas system inspection: $150

  • Pressure test: $75–$500

  • Damaged or corroded pipe: $6–$7 per linear foot

  • Repair gas leak: $120–$5,000

Appliances typically connected to a gas line include gas stoves, water heaters, furnaces, and gas fireplaces. Essentially, any appliance in your home that uses gas needs to be connected to a gas line, which connects your home with the main gas line owned and operated by your gas company.
