"I called Blue Crew Painters to get an estimate. The estimated it for 1735 for painting the house which includes the cost of the paint and labour. I have asked them to paint my condo with Sherwin-Williams paint. To my surprise, they started painting my condo with PPG Paint without informing me about the change. the quality of work is good. Mr Aker is a skillful man. I really like his skill. I would recommend him for his craftsmanship.
But, I have problems with a month after painting, i see many dark translucent spots on my walls. I suspect this may be due to to the quality of the paint. I have tried to contact Aker several times. I get a response but i do not have a solution yet. I wish, for the price they have quoted for a 800Sq Ft condo, i get a better quality paint.

"I needed my kitchen, 1/2 bath and nursery painted. Luis and his team did a great job. All we had to do was provide the paint and they took care of everything else. Luis and his crew was on time and professional. We plan to have them come back out to paint other parts of the house as well."

"Albert was very prompt on the day that he came to do the estimate. He was very professional. We scheduled the work to start on the following Monday at 9 a.m. I had to call at 9:30 when he didn't show up. He was at my house within half an hour and was very apologetic. We had discussed the possibility of them starting on Saturday and he forgot to write our appointment time down. He had planned to only have one worker but due to the misunderstanding on the appointment day and time, he made up for it by bringing two people to strip the wallpaper to ensure that the job was completed in the two days allotted. The workers were very courteous. The second day only required one person to complete the work and she was very efficient but she did come a half hour later than she had told me the day before. She completed the job in just  few hours. I had not planned for the baseboard to also be painted so had not bought any paint for that part of the job. She called Albert who had her go to pick up some paint to do the baseboards at no extra charge. She put the room completely back together, tank on the toilet, towel rack back on the wall and asked for the switchplate and outlet plate which I had removed prior to them coming, so that she could put them back in place as well. The room was cleaned of all debris. I am very happy with the job that Albert's crew did and would definitely hire him again.

"Mike and Crystal were very professional from the first phone contact through the completion of the work. They showed up on time, their work was neat and they worked very efficiently. My windows were in pretty bad shape. They really took their time and prepped them very well which showed in the finished product. When asked to redo or touch up anything it was done without question. In the end we received a very good paint job on a timely basis and at a competitive price. I have already recommended Mike's Painting to others in my neighborhood and would use him again for future painting needs.

"My appointment was scheduled at 9am and two gentlemen, in a truck with a different company name, arrived at about 9:10am. I asked them if they were with Pro Green and they told me that they subcontract with them. The small bathroom that I wanted to have painted had one and a half walls with wallpaper and they gave me a quote of $800 to have the wallpaper removed and the walls ready to paint. I told them that I was going to hold off and got a refund for the $99. I got a quote of $400 from another gentlemen to have the wallpaper removed, walls prepped, the bathroom painted, electrical work done, and install the towel racks."

"G&E did very professional work and took extra time and care to help us prep and clean up. They painted areas with very tall ceilings and the quality of their work was very good! They are good communicators, had fair pricing and were kind to our kids while they worked in our home. We're grateful for the their help in transforming the look of the inside of our home. We would highly recommend."

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can apply peel-and-stick wallpaper over wood paneling, but it requires significant preparation for a good result. Peel-and-stick wallpaper has a weaker adhesive than traditional wallpaper and works best on smooth, non-textured surfaces like painted or primed drywall. Because wood paneling is often textured with grooves, any flaws in the underlying surface will likely be visible after application. To prepare the paneling, you must ensure the surface is free of cracks, holes, and protrusions by filling any indentations and sanding rough spots to create a smooth surface. An alternative is to remove the paneling and apply the wallpaper directly to the underlying drywall or plaster, provided it is in good condition.

If you can already see the texture of the existing wallpaper through the layer of paint, then the texture could also come through the new layer of wallpaper. If that’s the aesthetic you want, then proceed. But if you want a smoother surface, you should either strip off the existing paint and wallpaper or hang a layer of liner paper before proceeding.

When installing new steel doors, it’s smart to do other projects simultaneously. This can lower costs, limit mess, and help your home look and function better. For example, replacing a damaged doorframe is wise when planning door installations.

Also consider changing broken or worn-out locks, repairing or replacing weather stripping, and updating handles. Painting, staining, or upgrading the trim around the door can also improve energy efficiency, security, and aesthetics.

Hiring a professional wallpaper hanger is usually a worthwhile idea because, while the application of wallpaper itself is easy, getting the finished product to look good is complicated and takes a lot of practice and patience. A professional wallpaper hanger will not only be able to hang your wallpaper seamlessly, but they will also get an even application of wallpaper paste to avoid bubbling and imperfections immediately and over time. Plus, they can provide their professional opinion on whether to remove or wallpaper over an existing layer of wallpaper.

Painting over wallpaper is an efficient way to cover it if it’s in decent shape. Before painting over wallpaper, make sure the surface is clean and smooth. You may have to remove minor problem areas, such as lifted seams or small peels, with a sheetrock knife or putty knife. Add a latex- or oil-based primer to keep moisture at bay before painting. You’ll likely need two coats of paint to cover the area.
