The resin should be periodically sealed to help prevent it from wearing down or becoming porous. Very sharp or very hot objects can damage the resin surface, and there’s no way to fully repair it if that happens, so we recommend treating the counters well.

Comparing engineered stone vs. natural stone countertops can help you figure out if one is better than the other for you. The answer depends on your preferences, needs, and budget. You might choose engineered stone if you are looking for something more cost effective and low maintenance, but it is hard to beat the beauty of natural stone counters. You may prefer their longer lifespan, the uniqueness of each slab, and their durability.

Unfortunately, you cannot put hot pans directly on laminate countertops, as the heat can cause significant damage. The heat can cause chips, burns, and marks, plus weaken the laminate. If you do have something hot you need to set down, then be sure you use a trivet or towel as a barrier between the countertop and pan so you can prolong its life.
