"I had several trees cleared in order to build a riding arena. Very smooth process from estimate to project completion. Price was fair and the team did a wonderful job. They were responsive and on-time. Absolutely recommend them and would not hesitate to hire them again!"

"Randy lives right around the corner from us. My wife called him about a large tree that had split at the base and was leaning against another tree. Randy called it a "widow maker". He gave us a great price to take care of it and then we discussed the rest of my jungle. He cut down around 20+ very large trees and cleared a ton of property for me. He even would show up every time we had a hard rain just to see how the run off would be on the newly cleared land. He is honest and very hard working, just like people use to be. Not only would I use him again, I now consider him a friend.

Architects questions, answered by experts

Federal and Colonial architecture are similar in that they both appear mostly utilitarian and symmetrical, but Federal architecture is a bit more ornate. Federal design often includes decorative palladium windows, window lintels, and, sometimes, columns surrounding a more decorative portico. Inside, Federal architecture is set apart by its centrally-located oval room. Additionally, Federal homes tend to have brick facades, whereas Colonial homes more often have wood siding.

The architect you choose to work with should have experience with the type of design you’re interested in, a portfolio of similar projects they’ve completed, and a process and work style that aligns with your expectations. A seasoned architect will be able to provide you with all that information so you can ensure they’re a good fit.

The process typically takes 2-6 weeks, depending on the project size and level of customization.

Above all, the downside to building a new house is a longer timeline. You need several months to finish the build, depending on the supply chain and labor availability in the meantime. Building a home compared to buying one is also more expensive, both in the building process and when it comes to mortgage rates and property taxes.

Arched windows used to be most prevalent in more traditional home styles, like Spanish colonial and Gothic, but they are becoming increasingly popular in modern design. You’ll often find arched windows in new home builds across many styles, including farmhouse and contemporary architecture. This represents a more general trend toward more unique houses with interesting features.
