"So pleased with my choice to use Blue Horizon, Rusty was great to work with, he kept me well informed on the schedule work. His crew showed up on time and completed the work that was scheduled for that day. I used most of Rusty suggestions , from the design firm to the cabinet maker. Rusty taught me a lot through this 8 month process of the remodel. When an issue came up( as they often do in a remodel), he always had options to handle the situation. We are very pleased with our “new” house. I don’t think you will find a better company or person to work with. Ask for Rusty."

"Mark Lemenager was very knowledgeable. He was our initial inspector, and he provided us with thorough, insightful information regarding our foundation issues. Darryl, David, and the rest of the work crew were very professional and accommodating. They even came by the next day to inspect the flooring to make sure everything was level. We were highly impressed by them."

"Fence looks good. Only issue as poor communication. Didn’t show up when they said they would. Didn’t give me a heads up either. No one on the crew spoke English either. They got the work done though and did a good job."

"Chris and John showed up as scheduled and did a very thorough job of assessing the water incursion problem I have. In the end, it was a problem that Ram Jack does not repair, but they told me what probably should be done to fix it. I certainly appreciate the fine evaluation they did and their advice. As an extra bonus, they were very pleasant to deal with!"

"Nick and his crew were nothing less than outstanding. They were punctual, respectful, and after the work day was done they cleaned up (even if they were coming back the next day) - Nick and his crew are good people and do great work. "WOW! These guys absolutely SAVED my ceiling. HIGHLY RECOMEND. 10 STARS if I could. 40% of my living room ceiling had to be demoed due to a water leak. VM Drywall came to my house and provided a fair price for the work done, did a great job with the demo, sheetrock, tapping, mudding, sanding and final cleaning. My ceiling looks better now then when I bought my house. I will be using VM Drywall in the future and will recomend them to everyone I know. Thank you so much! Charlotte & Charlie."

House Leveling questions, answered by experts

It’s best not to perform mudjacking in the winter unless the ground temperature remains above freezing. Freezing temperatures can cause the slurry to harden too quickly, compromising its strength and longevity. Concrete is also more susceptible to cracking and splitting in cold temperatures, so there’s a higher risk of damaging the slab during the drilling and lifting process in winter.

Mudjacking typically takes 24 to 72 hours (one to three days) to dry and cure completely before you can resume normal use. The exact time can vary depending on the size of the project. Because the slurry mixture contains cement, it must fully harden to ensure that added weight from walking, furniture, or vehicles won't shift the concrete slab. A professional contractor can advise you on when the surface is safe to use. For comparison, if you use polyjacking instead, the polyurethane foam can dry in just a few minutes, but it's best to wait about an hour before use.

Yes, expanding foam (also known as polyurethane foam) can lift concrete. This approach, called polyjacking, involves injecting the foam rather than concrete slurry to fill voids and raise the concrete slab back into place. It’s often faster and requires smaller drill holes than traditional mudjacking, though it may come at a higher cost. Some contractors also prefer polyjacking over mudjacking for more damaged and delicate slabs.

Polyjacking can be a permanent solution to sunken concrete if you also address the underlying issue—like poor drainage—at the same time. The polyurethane material itself can last as long as or even outlast the concrete you’re lifting it with. Your sunken concrete issue will likely return if you don’t couple polyjacking with proper drainage to prevent future soil movement and sinking.

The average cost for mudjacking is around $1,200, though prices can range from $300 to $3,400. On a per-square-foot basis, you can expect to pay between $3 and $8, with an average of about $5 per square foot. The final cost depends on several factors, including the square footage of the concrete, the type of slab, its accessibility, whether it is load-bearing, and the type of material used to lift it. Generally, lifting a driveway, small patio, or sidewalk is less expensive than lifting a slab foundation or garage floor.
