"We planned to have a large Murphy bed unit installed in a second story bedroom and we wanted to know if our current floor joists and beam could handle the extra weight. Josh did a very thorough investigation and analysis, keeping us in the loop throughout the process. We found him to be very knowledgeable and quick to respond to any questions we had along the way."

Customers say: True professional

"He is a pretty good guy.  He still does the work here in the neighborhood.  He does everything.  He is really good at granite countertops and new kitchen.  He is good at tile work.  The price was really good for the amount of work he did.  He did a lot of tile work.  I paid for the materials.  He was excellent.  He did exactly what he was going to do and that was a good thing.  He fulfilled his commitment.  He is really good at what he does.  He got a clear understanding of what I wanted to do.  He listened to what I had to say.  He did what I expected.  I didn't think I was overcharged for what was done.  He did a really great job.  He was here when he said he would be here and he was here every day until the job was done.  He came out for several weeks.  He was here on time.  He worked till 5 or 6'o clock and he would pick it up the next day.  He was very good.  He did what he said he was going to do.  I was impressed with the overall job he did.  I got him to other people who had high expectation also.  He is a pretty straightforward individual.  I got what I paid for."

Structural Engineering questions, answered by experts

Completing structural engineering projects in Greenville can greatly enhance your home’s value and marketability. Buyers in Greenville often look for homes with documented foundation repair, settlement correction, or flood mitigation, given the local soil and weather conditions. Quality structural improvements signal long-term durability and help your property stand out in a competitive market, making it more appealing to future buyers.

Helpful?

Greenville’s humid climate and frequent rainfall require moisture control measures and reliable drainage systems for any structural engineering project. Spring storms can delay foundation repair or excavation, while summer heat affects concrete curing times. The area’s clay-rich soil expands and contracts with moisture, so waterproofing and proper settlement planning are crucial for long-term stability and to prevent future structural issues.

Helpful?

In Greenville, watch for hairline cracks that widen over time, floors that start to slope, or doors that become harder to open after heavy rain—these may indicate foundation settlement. Persistent moisture spots, termite activity, or tree roots near the foundation can quickly escalate into major structural problems. Addressing these early signs with a professional inspection helps prevent more extensive repairs down the line.

Helpful?

To keep your Greenville home safe during structural repairs, set up sturdy barriers around work areas and use dust containment methods to limit exposure—especially during the region’s high pollen months. Choose low-VOC products to maintain healthy indoor air quality in Greenville’s humid climate. For major projects, arrange for temporary pet care or child supervision, and always work with contractors who prioritize family safety.

Helpful?

In Greenville, signs like foundation cracks wider than 1/4 inch, uneven floors, or doors that suddenly stick often point to underlying structural issues needing a structural engineer’s assessment. If you notice sloping floors or visible settlement—especially common with Greenville’s shifting clay soil—professional evaluation is essential. Cosmetic drywall cracks or chipped paint usually don’t require structural work, but anything affecting stability should be checked promptly.
