I previously hired Tommy Hood, and he truly helped us be able to break the contract with Ryan?s Home over roof and foundation issues, which is why I hired him again. Unfortunately, my second experience was a stark contrast. I hired him for an independent assessment of our driveway, but he contacted the warranty department without my consent. This breach of trust has led me to cut off communication. I cannot recommend him to anyone who expects transparency, client loyalty, and respect for confidentiality.

Found Tommy through a post made by someone else on the Simpsonville FB page. He was referred a couple of times by other people. I called him and he seemed very nice and professional. I felt very comfortable having him come out and inspect our retaining wall, which had not passed GVC permitting, due to the fact that our pool contractor did not properly handle the building of the wall and getting permits for our pool and our wall. Our pool guy went out of business and left all of this for us to deal with. GVPD was wonderfully helpful and gracious. They only asked us for a letter from a a letter from an engineer stating the wall was stable enough to handle the water weight of our pool. Tommy came out to the house did a visual inspection. I sent him photos of everything we had. He had no problems writing a perfect letter that we sent to GVPD the next morning. They passed our wall without even coming out to do a visual inspection. I highly recommend Tommy.

We contacted Mr. Hood after several foundation companies (with great reviews) gave wildly differing solutions for moisture in the crawlspace. Mr. Hood quickly identified an issue with the gutter downsplashs and possible grading issues. Boom! Problem solved and thousands saved. Thank you for inspecting, evaluating, and recommending a reasonable solution. Kudos to Mr. Hood.

Very, very helpful and honest. Explained why my wall was not weight-bearing after crawling up in my attic, pulling back insulation, and taking pictures of the top of the wall as well as of my trusses. He was the fourth person I had contacted for a quote on removing the wall after the other three contractors offered me quotes to put in beams â because it was weight-bearingâ (they didnâ t go in the attic). Decided to talk with an engineer instead of a contractor, so called him after seeing his contact info on Angi. Forever grateful to himâ the highest quote to put in a beam was 12K. *And* on top of everything, he didnâ t charge me anything, even though I offered to pay him for his time. Iâ ve saved his contact info for future projects.

Excellent service. Tommy csme as scheduled, evaluated the problem, and offered a very reasonable solution. After the repair (a cracked truss) he followed up with a letter certifying the repair. Very reasonable price for the work.

Thorough evaluation! He explained his observations, recommended budget considerate repairs and pointed out what I need to look for that would require further action. His service was timely and professional. I initially used his service for the home I was selling and after that interaction required the sellers to utilize his service in evaluating the crawlspace piers in the house I was buying.

Tommy Hood saved us thousands of dollars with our foundation repair. Others quoted from $8,000 to upwards of $80,000. He fixed it for much less and explained why the other estimated work was not needed. Tommy was honest, dependable and on time. I would consult him before I ever had anything else done on my home regarding structural work.

Very professional and knowledgeable

We hired Tommy hood for a major renovations and expansion of our home in June 2020. He was supposed to complete the project in 6 months (Jan 1 2021). The project is still incomplete as of April 20 2021 and he has abandoned our project leaving us hanging with the work partially complete. We have not heard from him in months. He was late and did not communicate. Run as fast as you can from Tommy hood.

Tommy is very thorough and provide recommendations that are advantageous to his customer and most economical. His work ethics is admirable. He does not charge you for anything if no formal work is done.

Tommy was awesome and I will use him moving forward.
