"They removed a bundle of roots left by another plumbing company, Mr Rooter of Hartsville, SC, less than a month before. Hill Plumbing was quick to respond, very efficient, professional and courteous. We live in a small town about 25 miles away and we felt the price was very reasonable. "Tucker came out to install a hot water heater. I called several plumbers and Tucker was the one who didn't try to scare us or try to overcharge us. One company even said we can't give you an estimate. They wanted to come out do the job THEN give me a price. Tucker was professional, came at the time he gave me and had my hot water heater installed and working within 2 hours. I highly recommend using him."

While there are negatives, the vast majority of homeowners acknowledge the positives are enough to install a disposal in their home. 

Never put glass in the garbage disposal. It can damage your disposal or eject shards of glass out of the disposal and cause injury. If you get broken glass in your garbage disposal, turn it off and cut the power from the breaker, use a tool like pliers or tongs to remove the glass, and use a wet-dry vacuum to remove the remaining glass pieces. If you can’t access the disposal safely, call a garbage disposal repair pro.

If your garbage disposal powers up and you can hear it hum, but the arms inside aren’t moving, the problem might be a stubborn clog, a build-up of grease, or a jam of the impeller plate. To troubleshoot these, ensure your unit is off and disconnected from its power source before checking inside the drain or attempting to manually rotate the impeller arms or plate from the underside of the unit. A hex wrench can help.

Once you have your garbage disposal disconnected, you can remove the mounting bracket by unscrewing the bolts that are holding the bracket. You can back them out just enough to pop off the snap ring, which prevents the bottom portion of the bracket from disconnecting from the top when you unscrew the bolts. Use a regular screwdriver to pop off the snap ring, and the rest of the components should fall off by themselves.

While unplugging your garbage disposal and plugging it back in may help, most units have an actual reset button, a bright red switch found on the underside of your unit. If your garbage disposal needs resetting, you may notice this button sticking out about a quarter of an inch from the surface of the unit, with which it’s usually flush. Simply depress this reset button to reset the unit, and then test to ensure it’s working about 10 minutes later.
