"It was perfect! They had to replace butcher block countertops that had been incorrectly installed by another company. They came out and gave an estimate and had samples of wood to choose from and gave options for the installation on the edges, etc. They show up when they are scheduled to for all appointments and they explain what they are going to do and how to care for the counters after installation. Exceptional people to work with!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!"

The most expensive countertop materials are marble and granite. These natural materials are very heavy and require specialized tools and knowledge to install. Note that faux marble finishes do not resist heat and require protection from hot items at all times.

Countertops typically hang over base cabinets by 1.5 inches. This slight overhang protects cabinet faces from spills and provides a finished look. The overhang may extend 12 inches or more for kitchen islands or breakfast bars to allow for seating and comfortable eating.
