"I have used The Perfect Move SC twice in the last 3 years for moving an entire household. Anytime you are moving, there are many vendors involved from changing utilities to having repairs/improvements on both ends of the move. The Perfect Move SC staff are far and above the best experience of both moves. They were punctual, went "over & above" expectations to ensure that our moving experience was as stress-free as possible and were exceptionally helpful and friendly. They made sure appliances and furniture were where we wanted it and would go to great lengths to make it work even if somewhat inconvenient. They worked within our schedule and any little mishaps were repaired and made right in a timely manner. We will definitely use them again."

"I hired Sanders movers to assist my son with unloading a 26 foot rental truck filled with all his families belongings. I live in Michigan, my son in Indiana. Angie's list help me connect with Sanders in South Carolina. It took my son and his family 2 1/2 days non-stop work to pack up everything from their 4 bedroom home and 14 hours to drive to South Carolina. The two Sanders movers had the truck unloaded and into the apartment and storage unit in only 3 1/2 hours. They hauled a washer, dryer, sofa and large chair, TV's, beds, dressers, tables and many, many boxes up 3 flights of stairs. My son was also offered a free month's storage rental if he needed more room. It was such a relief to find Sanders Moving. They were friendly and helpful from my first contact with them. My son said he was very pleased with their services, that they are hard workers, professional and courteous. I would highly recommend using their services."

Piano Moving questions, answered by experts

Yes, moving a piano often causes it to become out of tune, even if you're not moving the piano very far. One reason is that any temperature and humidity changes can affect a piano's tuning. Additionally, the bumps and jolts from a moving truck usually push a piano out of tune.

However, don't jump right to tuning it once the piano gets to your new home. Instead, it's best to wait at least two weeks for the instrument to acclimate to its new environment. After a couple weeks, you'll get an idea of what the piano will really sound like in its new home, at which point you can call a piano technician to get it properly tuned.

Deciding whether it's worth it to hire movers depends on your budget, patience, and physical capabilities. It's difficult to gauge the amount of work that moving calls for, and it's easy to be off by about tenfold.

If you're able to call in some favors and round up friends to help, you might get through it just fine, but if you only have a few hands helping, things can quickly get overwhelming. Either way, bringing in the pros will save considerable time and stress, so if it's within your budget, it's a great investment.

Professional movers take care of safely loading, transporting, and unloading all of your belongings. Many movers also offer specialty pricing for whole-house packing, furniture disassembly, relocating fragile items, and more. You’ll benefit from having a moving team take care of your move quickly and efficiently.

To prepare for moving a piano, start by documenting its current condition with photos in case of any damage during the move. Secure the piano's lid and wrap the instrument, including its keys and pedals, with bubble wrap and moving blankets for protection. Note that if you have hired professional piano movers, they may handle this step for you.

Next, prepare the space. Measure any tight spaces or doorways to ensure the piano will fit through. Clear a wide path from the piano's location to the exterior door, removing any furniture or obstacles. It is also helpful to prop open doors to make the exit easier.

On moving day, ensure the moving truck can park as close to the exit as possible. For safety, keep children and pets away from the moving area to prevent accidents or distractions.

Planning ahead is essential—this will give you the chance to coordinate your move during weekends or after business hours, and set up essential services in your new office before moving day to minimize downtime. Start by creating a detailed timeline and checklist for every phase of the move, from packing to unpacking. Inform your employees, clients, and vendors about the move well in advance, including any expected disruptions and how you plan to manage them. Delegate responsibilities to ensure all aspects of the move are covered. Lastly, set up the essentials at the new location first to resume operations quickly.
