"A wonderful professional plumber. We thought the water heater needed to be replaced but Scott told us that was not the problem. We very much appreciate his honesty. He replaced the broken water heater thermostats, corrected a water circulation problem and replaced the bladder in the overflow tank. Thank you, Scott!"

"I recently hired Hunter with Foothills Plumbing and Construction to remodel my bathroom, and I couldn’t be happier with the results! The project involved relocating plumbing and installing brand-new fixtures, and their expertise was evident every step of the way. From the start, they were incredibly prompt, showing up exactly when they said they would and staying on schedule throughout the job. They took the time to explain the process clearly, helping me understand what was involved with moving pipes and ensuring everything would be installed safely and efficiently. Their knowledge truly set them apart. They offered valuable suggestions to improve the layout of the space, and the finished bathroom is both functional and beautiful. Every detail, from the pipework to the fixtures, was done with precision and care. The team was professional, courteous, and cleaned up thoroughly after each day. I highly recommend Hunter with Foothills Plumbing and Construction to anyone looking for a reliable, skilled plumber for a major project. I’ll definitely call them again for future plumbing needs!"

Small jobs welcome

"Having a lake house in a rather rural area has it's pros and cons.  One of the disadvantages is that it can be hard to find reliable professional services (like plumbing, building, electrical, etc.).  Mr. Rooter is an exception.  Each time I called them, they responded quickly and appropriately, sending highly qualified professionals to the house.  One of the times was on a weekend and their answering service quickly connected me to the plumber on call.  The third time I called them was to address a symptom created by the second fix -- and Will Holcombe was a total pro in both diagnosing, fixing and taking responsibility for the problem.  Not every plumbing fix is perfect (lots of variables and things even the best plumbers cannot see in the walls, etc.) and he was extremely reasonable and honest about a flaw in a gasket that he had previously installed (which created a new leak).  Will found the problem, created a new solution using calk in place of the gasket and the toilet no longer leaks.  I was really impressed by Will's approach, abilities and general professionalism.  He worked quickly and confidently, making sure to solve the problem while being very tidy and careful to avoid mess in a newly remodeled bathroom.   I understand that Will is moving away and will no longer be working with Mr. Rooter in Anderson, SC.  I know he'll be an asset at the next company he joins and wish him the best of luck.  Will (and Mr. Rooter), thanks again for the help, the good work and, importantly, for being nice people.

"My sewer line was blocked with tree roots. There were delays in completing the project, mostly due to bad weather. When finished, the quality of the work and their cleanup of the area, including reseeding the portion of the yard they had dug up, was outstanding. They are not cheap but they do top quality work."

"The plumber (Blain Clement) that came out was great! Did all the necessary work in a very short amount of time. I figured he would be there almost the entire day, but he was in and out within about an hour. Promised to be here at a certain time and was at our appointment time within 2 or 3 minutes."
Septic Repairs
Holy cow!! We found it!
Almost looks like we didn't just install 400' of 4'' Storm Drainage to save the septic system from near total failure.

Sometimes excessive storm water can wreak havoc on a septic system and cause the system to break down prematurely.
The septic system was drowning, we suggested diverting the storm water to protect the septic tank & field lines. Problem Solved.

"I have known Rusty throughout the duration of his career in plumbing. He started at the bottom, as an employee and worked his way up; establishing himself in the field, as the honest and approachable plumber, who wants to educate his clients. He explains what the problem is and provides different levels of solutions, depending on how urgent the case is, rather than falsifying a sense of urgency. If you’re looking for somebody who is credible and will get the job done, this is who you call."

"Ogre and Above Plumbing was simply wonderful!! They were the first ones to call me and everyone I dealt with was absolutely wonderful and professional and helpful!! Sage the Master Plumber was particularly wonderful!! He found the problem instantly and provided a very reasonable estimate! He helped me today immensely by cleaning and replacing drainpipes to help with the problem until the major work can be completed due to my financial situation. I am so incredibly grateful to him and everyone! Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Sage!!"

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

Adding a shower to a half bath transforms it into a three-quarter bath. Compared to converting a half bath into a full bath, this type of conversion is a more affordable way to add functionality and accessibility. This project can add around 5% to 6% to the value of your home, especially if you only have one full bathroom or your only shower is on an upper level. This is a common upgrade for a ground floor when homeowners are hoping to age in place.

Draining a pool with a garden hose can take between eight and 14 hours depending on the depth of your pool and whether you use a sump pump. Be sure to stay close to the pool during this time to ensure the structure of your pool remains unharmed and that the water drains properly.

If the drain is frozen, the pipes connecting to the washing machine are likely frozen. If the hot water trick doesn’t also unfreeze the washing machine pipes, you can gently apply heat with a hair dryer on the lowest setting. Start at the end of the pipe closest to the faucet to prevent pressure from building in the pipes, and make sure the faucet is open to drain the water as it melts.

Plumbers will typically take one to two hours to install a new drain pipe, but that timeline can vary based on the area’s accessibility, the drain length, and the type of drain line. Replacing an easily accessible p-trap under a sink could take as little as a half an hour, while replacing a larger section of drain line behind the wall could take as long as three to four hours. When hiring a plumber for your specific installation, ask them to provide an estimated timeline to get a more accurate assessment.

The best types of piping for underground main water lines are PVC and PEX pipes because of their ability to be buried and withstand high levels of water pressure. PVC and PEX pipes are resistant to rusting and corrosion, which makes them ideal for transporting water. Copper is another efficient type of pipe for underground water lines because of their resistance to rusting and leakage. Again, copper pipes are on the higher end of the price range.
