"Mike was able to get everything accomplished very efficiently and well. He arrived within the expected time window. Replaced toilet seat at no charge. Gave us clear estimates on additional work. As always, so very satisfied with Mike and Servant Plumbing. Know that repair people from Servant are experienced and competent. Find cost of installations for all work, not just Servant, is more than we would expect, but that's where skill and experience factor in. Did not get multiple estimates because we have had such a positive experience with their work in the past."

"My husband and I bought a house in 2017. It needed all of the plumbing redone. That’s when I called AJ. Now he’s the only one I trust and call every time! Just to list a few, he has replaced all of our pipes, put in a bathtub, 2 showers, toilets and sinks, 2 dishwashers, washer and dryer, and a water heater. He’s worked on our well and added water lines in the yard, along with faucets and added outside spigots around the house. He’s also very good at unclogging the shower and sink drains. I promise you won’t be let down if you call AJ’s Plumbing!"

"I had an excellent experience with the plumbing work that was done at my mother's home. The job included replacing pipes under the house, as well as servicing and updating plumbing to fixtures throughout the home. Everything was completed professionally, efficiently, and with great attention to detail. Communication was clear from start to finish, the work area was kept clean, and the quality of workmanship was outstanding. It's hard to find someone reliable and honest these days, and I truly appreciate the care that went into making sure everything was done right. I would definitely recommend their services to anyone needing plumbing repairs or upgrades."

"Great communication and results - they were quickly able to find the practically identical, long-lasting (26yr) beast of a garbage disposal replacement that I wanted. Nate also fixed up my shower fixture to work more smoothly then it ever did when brand new. I highly recommend 🐊!"

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Most toilets have a 12-inch rough-in or hole, but some have 10- or 14-inch holes, which means that not all toilets fit all setups. Knowing how to measure the rough-in is essential, so you purchase a toilet that fits the existing drain hole. It can be costly to have the rough-in moved, and most stores don’t accept toilet returns.

Yes, you can have a toilet without a septic tank. However, it will have to be a composting toilet. Composting toilets work similarly to aerobic septic systems in that the waste, which sits in a separate compartment below the toilet itself, is slowly broken down by aerobic bacteria. These toilets typically have a vent to get rid of harmful gasses with a fan, which requires a battery. You will have to dispose of waste in the toilet manually every three weeks to every three months, depending on how many people are using the toilet.

Yes, you can pour water down the toilet to help it flush. For each flush, you’ll need 1 to 2 gallons of water for newer toilets or 3 to 5 gallons of water for older toilets. Rather than dumping the entire bucket in all at once, pour the water in slowly for the best results. If you’re pouring water down the toilet to help it flush after a clog, only use 1 gallon of hot water.

After flushing the toilet, you should have about half a tank full of water. While the exact amount of water you’ll have will vary, you want to make sure you have enough to cover the bottom of the bowl and enough to sit above the P-trap drain. While low water in your toilet bowl can indicate a problem, too much water can also be cause for concern.

Yes, pressure-assist toilets leak, but less often than regular toilets. You might experience leaks from your toilet due to worn-out parts, water pressure in your plumbing that’s too high or low, poor installation, or cracks in your tank. These toilets are harder to fix on your own than gravity-fed ones, so it’s best to call a plumber if you can’t figure out what’s wrong,
