"We're thrilled with the work done on our two bathroom updates! The contractor, Noah and his team were professional, reliable, and did excellent work from start to finish. They stayed on schedule, kept the work areas clean, and the quality of the craftsmanship is outstanding. Both bathrooms look beautiful and function perfectly. We wouldn't hesitate to hire them again for future projects. Highly recommend!again for future projects. Highly recommend!"

"His name is Wendel Barns, and he was outstanding!.  He was referred to me by a friend.  I left him the keys to my home, and I never even met the guy!  He never touched a thing, and left the place as clean as could be.  He did what he promised, on schedule.  We never had any arguments, and his price was about 30% lower than the next lowest
guy.  A's across the board!  I absolutely would use him again.  I even called him later to repair the roof, but the insurance company took care of it."

"We Love our home! Looking for a home builder is difficult! After identifying the land for our new home, we met with several recommended builders, all who said they could build us the perfect custom home. Not being a novice to the home construction process, when we visited their building sites, we notice construction flaws. Then, we met Rick! We initially saw his sign and workers repairing a home damaged by Hurricane Mathew. One of his workers gave us a business card, we made a call, and scheduled an appointment. Our first meeting was held at the home The Renovators were repairing. The owner of the home joined us outside and excitedly explained how she met Rick and how impressed and pleased she was with his work. She invited us in to give us a tour of her home, showing us pictures of the original damage. Our first meeting lasted over two hours, Rick asked many questions, took pages of notes, and drove with us to visit the potential home site. From his notes, Rick designed the Low Country home of our dreams, while keeping us within budget. We met several times to discuss the design, it was clear, before we signed the contract we had developed a trusting partnership, with not only Rick, but all the employees of the Renovators. Our home is beautiful! When you walk in, there is a sense of welcoming peace. Our home is well built using quality materials. The Renovators employs highly skilled craftsmen. When we had questions, the workers were extremely helpful and clear in their explanations. They were engaging and always professional. We love our home! If you are looking for a builder of the highest integrity, honest, professional, available and personable, we say, Look no more, call The Renovators, and ask for Rick! Michael & Octavia Lewis"

Small jobs welcome

Customers say: Quality work

"We are so pleased with the work Ed and his team have done. Any questions we had they were always answered and Ed was able to accommodate our every need. Nancy from the office has been in touch with us throughout the entire project to make sure all of our questions were answered. The job was amazing, completed quickly, and for a good price. The crew was very professional, clean, and the result left our living room looking like a million dollars. We definitely recommend Trim the Carolinas and will be using them again in the future!"

"Sentri Homes provided the most professional flooring service I’ve ever had. The LVP installation turned out absolutely beautiful, and I was amazed at how quickly everything was completed without sacrificing quality. The crew was fast, accurate, and extremely detail-oriented from start to finish. Everything was installed cleanly, precisely, and with real craftsmanship. The entire process was smooth, efficient, and far beyond what I expected. I would absolutely recommend Sentri Homes to anyone needing flooring installed."

Barndominium Builders questions, answered by experts

The construction stage is almost always the longest part of building a house. Within this stage, framing often takes the most time, lasting anywhere from one week to a couple of months, depending on the home's size, the crew, and the time of year. Other parts of the construction phase include pouring the foundation and installing doors, windows, a roof, siding, drywall, and flooring. The planning and design phase can also be very time-consuming, sometimes taking months or even years, especially for a custom home. The final finishing process, which includes painting and installing trim, is typically shorter than the construction or planning stages.

Pole barns and carports are similar in that they rely on posts for support and are often not connected to a primary structure. The main difference between the two is that pole barns usually include walls that surround the entire perimeter of the structure, while carports generally remain open on three or four sides. It’s possible to insulate garage doors and even exterior walls on pole barns to create a comfortable workspace, and it’s a bit more secure for storage purposes. However, carports are more affordable.

Yes, barn doors can be too heavy, although the limitation is usually imposed by the mounting hardware you buy and not your home’s framing, unless you’re building an unusually wide door. To keep the weight down, you can opt for 1-by material rather than 2-by material, and choose a softwood like pine rather than a hardwood like maple or oak. Check the weight limits on your mounting hardware, and always attach your door track to studs rather than to drywall anchors.

Any type of construction that damages a tree’s roots via soil compaction can be dangerous, and is one of the primary causes of mature tree death in residential areas. Simply putting lots of weight on the ground around the tree, like construction supplies, trailers, and equipment, can kill roots near the surface. Of course, installing new foundations, patios, or utility lines can cut through nearby tree roots. Accidentally striking a tree with equipment or supplies is rarely a problem, but can cause damage of its own, too.

The most significant expense when building a barndominium is constructing the metal shell, which includes the roof, doors, and windows. Additional exterior components impacting the overall cost include metal siding and the concrete foundation.
