I do not see where he lost anything on this job. He got 3 call outs (2 of which were premium weekend) and two diagnostic fees. If you charge a diagnostic fee why don't you do a complete diagnostic on the entire system the first time, especially since the unit is 30 years old? If his company had diagnosed that the compressor was bad on the first visit, the decision to replace the unit immediately would have been easy and he may have gotten the job. I told him I was making a park bench for my wife. At which point, he measured the piece of wood that I had brought in. The amount was 16.06, a little high, but fair enough. I paid him, and he said it would be ready at 4:00 pm. It was 10:59 am, not bad. for 16.06, I could get same day service. Living roughly 30 miles away, I went home. Pulling into my driveway at 11:36 am, I get a call from Kick Booty Motor Sports....it was ready for pick up. Now I'm a little tweaked. I drove 30 miles back to the store and went in. The salesperson came to the counter with.......a BUMPER STICKER! I was so shocked, I couldn't speak. I knew that if I did, someone was going to get their feelings hurt. I turned around and walked out. I don't see how they sleep at night charging people 16 bucks for a 3"×8" bumper sticker. If they didn't make "plaques", he should have said so. The problems first started when I called in for an appointment and explained my issues with my well pump. I asked if they wanted to know the information on the size of my holding tank because I live in a very rural area and if they needed supplies the travel time alone for a round trip would be 1 hour. I was told no, that the technician would determine what he would need when he got to the home and that they had suppliers in the area to get what was needed. The technician got to the home and checked underneath the home for leaks. Upon finding no leaks he said it appeared as if the holding tank needed to be replaced as well as the switch and pressure gauge.. He said he had brought a new switch and a pressure gauge but would have to get a new tank from the supplier. I had a 20 gallon tank but my water pressure was low and I wanted to increase the pressure so I asked if we were going to replace the tank how much additional would a 32 gallon tank cost over a 20 gallon tank. He said about $30. I said let?s go with the bigger tank and asked for a price quote. He quoted $742.50 which included the 10% senior citizen?s discount. I said that seemed high and he said that the cost included the parts, his labor at $195 an hour plus the cost of a repair visit and that was the best he could do. I agreed and he then asked for the nearest Lowe?s location. He left and 1 ½ hours later he returned. When I looked at the box for the tank it was a 20 gallon tank and not 32. I asked why I did not have the 32 gallon tank and he said the 32 gallon tank was $150 higher than the 20 gallon tank so he got the 20 gallon tank instead. I said then that must mean he would reduce his original quote. He said no that the price he quoted me was actually for a 20 gallon tank. When I said I did not want to put the 20 gallon tank in because I wanted the additional pressure, he called the office and they gave a further discount of $42 dollars and the repairman said he could improve the pressure because he was putting in a 30/50 switch to replace my existing 20/40 switch. The repairman replaced the tank, switch and pressure gauge and it did not fix the problem. The technician then heard a sound like escaping pressure or water returning to the well. He then said, ?I wish I had heard that earlier? (which I mentioned to him in the beginning before he started work). He said that my check valve was bad at the foot of the well and that I would have to call a well person because he did not do well work. At that point I told him that although I was better off with the newer parts, I still had the problem and I did not think it was fair for me to be out $700 and still have the problem. He called the office and handed the phone to me and I talked with a young lady and she asked me what I thought was a fair solution. I said, what I thought a fair solution would be would be for me was to pay for the parts and the hour labor that was quoted to put them in. She said she would have to contact a manager and call back. When she called the repairman back, he told me that they had checked with a manager and that the price could not be adjusted and the best they could do would give me a discount on future repair work. Why would I want that if I am not happy with the current repair work? I contacted my well person the next day (Saturday). He came out within two hours, never had to pull the well, installed a $26 check valve in the pipe between the tank and the above ground well entry point, adjusted the pressure in the tank as well as the switch all within 1 hour and charged me $100. I wrote the owner of the company a detailed letter outlining my experience giving him an opportunity to respond. He called me back the next week saying he was going to meet with everyone involved and get back to me. When I did not hear from him within a week I called and left a message asking for the results of the meeting. The administrative assistant called me back and said they were giving me a refund of $450 and were using my experience as training. On Sunday night I lost power to half of my home. There was no power to my furnace, dryer, refrigerator, living room, master bedroom and master bath. I contacted the power company who came out and said that there was a burned line in the box below the meter and that they would not be able to fix it since it was on the customer side and thus the customers responsibility. I contacted my Home Warranty and they selected Houchins Electric to diagnose and repair my problem. Within an hour after accepting the service the Tech (Tim) was calling to say he was on his way and should be there within the hour. I met him at the home and he had already diagosed the problem and was calling around to find the parts to repair it. Once he located the part he departed to pick it up and was back within an hour and immediately went to work to replace the breaker box, the burn out breakers and burned lines. He explained how it probably happened and relieved my concerns. He then came into home to check the breaker box inside and made sure everything was working correctly.
Very professional and quickly got the job done! They arrived and dropped off the materials and returned after lunch approximately 1:30 pm to do repairs. They left promptly at 4:30pm. When I came home from work to see the work I was upset. The work to me was not professional looking and they did not use the same material as was there. To make matters worse they hadn't even cleaned up after themselves. Everything they took down off of building was left where-ever it fell. I found pieces of wood with nails sticking up just laying here and there.
I sent them a letter with partial payment asking for them to clarify the material used (no venting of the eaves which I expected because that was what was on there before they repaired it), were they not responsible for cleaning up after themselves, had a supervisor inspected the work after completion, and were they going to warranty the work. I informed them I would pay the remaining money once my questions were answered and they came and cleaned up the mess.
One of the owners called me within 24 hours to answer my questions. She stated that the solid particle board soffett is what they always use and that since it was a storage building it didn't need venting. She said that they were suppose to clean up and she didn't know why that hadn't happened, that one of the workersthat was there is a supervisor (he inspected the work), and finally that they wouldn't warranty their work because the roof leaks. Funny that was never mentioned when I had them or any other contractor out to inspect the building and give me an estimates on the repairs.
I feel I was partially at fault because I did not insist on a written estimate. That may have clarified most of it but in the end it still comes down to the fact that the work does not look very professional, they did not inform me when they inspected that the roof leaked and needed to be replaced vs just repairing the eaves damage, and they did not clean up after themselves. If they had informed me that the damage was due to the roof leaking then instead of wasting money on repairing the eaves I could have spent that money on repairing/replacing the roof.
They did offer to give my check back but since I agreed to the work without clarification of what they were going to do and materials used I feel they deserve some payment. I am waiting to send them the final payment pending them cleaning up as they have already agreed it should have been done."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ok/pryor/mc-gill-roofing-reviews-6154640.htm"},"position":10}]}

FAQs for gravel driveway repair projects in Bamberg, SC
The average cost of a gravel driveway is about $1.25 to $2 per square foot, including the cost of materials, equipment, and professional installation. For example, a 16-by-30-foot driveway costs about $1,500. Cost factors include the type of gravel, how thick the gravel is installed, the condition of the landscape, and labor costs. Overall costs will vary depending on where you live and how accessible the job site is.
Concrete can crack from general wear, improper installation, or in response to uneven support from the soil underneath. Small, thin cracks on the surface of aging concrete are usually a result of normal wear and tear, while cracks on new concrete more likely indicate a problem with installation. Larger cracks or uneven steps can signify a much more severe issue. A concrete contractor should be able to diagnose the cause and repair concrete cracks for you.
The cost to install a concrete driveway is $4 to $15per square foot on average. Your price heavily depends on your desired concrete finish and driveway size.
For a driveway that is 200 square feet, you can expect to pay an average cost of $1,900. For a driveway at double that size (400 square feet), the average price is closer to $3,800. Plain concrete is significantly more cost-effective, averaging $7 per square foot, whereas stained concrete averages around $19 per square foot.
The cost of resurfacing concrete is $6 per square foot on average, though that cost can range from $3 to $9per square foot.
For a driveway that is 200 square feet, you can expect to pay $600 to $1,800, and for a driveway that is 500 square feet, that cost averages $1,500 to $4,500. Resurfacing your driveway will give you the look and feel of a new surface without the hefty cost.
A gravel driveway should be at least 4 to 6 inches deep, depending on the soil it’s installed on. Softer soil that doesn’t drain well should have a deeper gravel driveway. Deeper gravel will mean you spend more on materials and labor, but you’ll get a more stable driveway and avoid damage that needs to be filled or graded flat again.
