"Our water was full of iron and left our toilets, showers, sinks, and even parts of washing machine orange. We have been dealing with this issue for many years and were sick of dealing with it. Recently, Bryan at Southeast Plumbing and Gas installed a water filtration system to our existing ( salt) water softener. It’s has been about 2 months now and so far the iron on any surfaces has not returned. Before the new system , the iron would have started to return within a few days. We are very satisfied with this new system so far and are looking forward to no more terrible iron or terrible smell. Our water also had a terrible sulfur , sometimes , metallic smell. Bryan said he could guarantee no iron in water once I had new filtration system installed but could not guarantee the odor would be gone. But he also told us that he felt that once he installed new filtration system that with the carbon filters that most probably the smell would go away or smell better. Well, he was right - the new filters took away the smell too, except in faucets that do not get used daily. Also, he thought he was going to have to add some parts to my system, but after checking my existing system , he told me that my system already had those parts on it-he could save me$200.00. I thanked him for being so honest. He could have pocketed the $200.00 and I wouldn’t have known that my system already had those parts. So he was very honest to tell me that and I really appreciated it!! We are very pleased with our new filtration system. Bryan did a great job and we appreciate all of his efforts to do his best for us to have a water system that gives us fresh smelling - no iron-good water!! He was very kind and respectful. Each day the crew showed up on time, worked hard all day, and cleaned up at end of each day; were respectful of property, and very professional, and pleasant to work with. They kept us informed of progress, and what was being done each day. During removal of old piping, they found additional damage behind the pipes that was not visible/identified during initial inspection- were very reasonable with determining the additional cost. They replaced damaged sills, old rotted floor joists, installed permanent support girders with masonry piers, installed a 10ml plastic vapor barrier, and installed multiple foundation vents. We are very satisfied with the results. Our floors are no longer bouncy, and floors feel very sturdy- was a dramatic difference after work completed. The 10 ml plastic Vapor barrier also has prevented that old damp smell inside the house after heavy rains. Was a good experience, and reasonable cost-(initial estimate $10,400, additional work required and we added foundation vent installation was $3800); would hire again."

Russell and two of his crew removed two existing powered roof attic ventilation fans from our roof and replaced them with two new fans.  The motor on one of the fans had burned out, and since both fans were the same age, we decided to replace both fans.  The cost of a new motor was about the same as the cost of an entirely new fan.  Russell picked up the new fans on the way to the job site.  The pitch of our roof is very steep, so access to the fans was not easy.  Some roofers will replace these fans but will not disconnect or reconnect the electrical wiring.  Russell and his crew handled the electrical as well.  Access to the fans from the inside of our attic is not practical because of the roof height, so they had to have enough slack in the electrical cable that was attached to enable the fans to be removed and pulled out from above with the wiring still attached.  Russell went into the attic and disconnected the electrical cable from the studs to enable this to be done.  He replaced the electrical cable on one of the fans that was shorter than the other to facilitate its removal if this ever happens again.  He did not charge me for the new cable.  He charged me for the actual cost of the fans plus the labor for his crew.  The new fans are very quiet.  It rained one day after the job was completed and I checked in the attic....there were no leaks around the fans. 

The fans are thermostatically controlled, and it was not hot enough the morning that they were installed to cause them to run.  So we could not confirm that they actually would run while Russell and his crew were here.  After they were gone, the attic temperature did get hot enough, and I confirmed that the fans did come on as they are supposed to do.  Russell called the next morning to confirm that they did come the afternoon of the job.

I was very pleased with the job and would definitely use Russell and his crew again.
