"We hired Rich in the beginning of May to put in a patio in our backyard. He wrote up the contract promising the patio would be in before the fourth of July. That deadline came and went and no patio. We were promised several additional deadlines and that work would be done with no results. He claimed because he had to fire several people and finding help was difficult that it was putting him behind. Meanwhile when I met up with him, he showed me pictures of other patio projects he had accomplished instead of ours. The final part of this review is Rich promised to send a refund from Riverhead Supply that he had received in error to us which has, to no surprise, not materialized. I do not recommend hiring him."

"I am sure that all positive reviews for this company are fake. Nothing that was promised to me was delivered. My siding project is still ongoing for over 1 month. Was told that it would be done in week. Had one rain day. They have system like this: 1) sales person who never installed anything he will promise you things that obviously are not true, 2) crew that is subcontracted but not Gunner, mine was driving for over 2 hours away, 3) person who oversees the project but has little control over anything, no supply, doesn't know the crew, crew does not listen to him, main office does not listen to him, 4) main office does not reply to you. They just tell me to talk to project manager who has no control. So you understand that if there are any issue you are on your own. Quality or work is not good. Many times I had to point to the crew what's wrong, planks are broken yet they were still installing it, caulking is done they way that I can do it better, they cut wires to awning etc"

As a member of the National Chimney Sweep Guild and also certified through the Chimney Institute of America, we take our motto, "Preventing fires one house at a time," very seriously. Our owner Chris, was a volunteer firefighter in his local community and saw the need to prevent these fires from even starting.

EPDM roofing is a single-ply roofing material made of rubber, and a professional will install it in a single sheet and seal the seams. Built-up roofing (BUR) consists of multiple layers made from asphalt, adhesives, and roofing felt. A professional will construct the layers of BUR on-site. EPDM is easier to repair and has better resistance to extreme temperatures, while BUR is more fire-resistant and affordable.

The short answer is, yes, cedar shakes do last longer than asphalt shingles. But the long answer is, it depends on maintenance. Asphalt shingles last about 20 years, while cedar shingles typically last about 30 years with proper maintenance. If they are very well maintained and installed in an area with a mild, drier climate, they can last up to 50 years.

Tile and shingle roofs both have their pros and cons. In general, tile roofs are a larger upfront investment. In some cases, they can cost twice as much as shingles, but they last much longer and generally hold their value better than shingle roofs. Shingle roofs, on the other hand, are budget-friendly and quicker to install.

Asphalt shingles blister when air gets trapped between building materials, either within the layers of the shingle itself or in adhesives on the undersides of the shingles. As the roof heats up in direct sunlight, the trapped gas expands and creates a bubble in the roof. Eventually, the bubble can pop, leaving an exposed area of decking and underlayment.

Whether replacing the entire roof or just installing roof shingle replacements in small areas, always pull up the old roof shingles. While you can technically put new roof shingles (but not other roof materials) over old shingles, this can add weight strain to the roof and prevent the new shingles from securing properly to the roof.
