"I have had the best experience with Gibraltar, and I cannot say enough about the people who work there and the product itself; we love our pool!! Itâ s given us a lot of joy this summer with friends and family. But foremost for my review is the people who I have interacted with since we purchased the pool in the summer of 2020- they are awesome. Really the best. I have not seen customer service like this at another company in a long time. We put in our new pool last November for a deeply meaningful reason for our family and I ended up talking with the CEO and shared with him the reason. He was so awesome and wrote me such a sincere, kind, and genuine note. From the CEO to the college kid on the floor and everyone in between- I have been so impressed with their patience, knowledge, friendliness, and professionalism. Iâ m so appreciative to Peter, Ellen, Grace, Ana, Jason, Keith, Jim, Ryan, Wayne and Jim. They have all been so incredibly awesome to deal with, and I feel like I am working more with a family than a huge company. Itâ s amazing they employee so many people who are each individually so helpful. You can tell the owners really care about how their store is represented and that they care about the quality of their work. We (like several other families) decided to build our pool during quarantine in 2020. There were delays that no one could have foreseen because the supplies were impossible to get for months- but that was no oneâ s fault, no one could have guessed we would be in a pandemic, and that the demand for pools would go up so much. So, even though there were delays, we understood, and Gibraltar did everything the could to get our pool built as quickly as possible and to make sure it was open for the summer season of 2021- and it was. I was sad to see reviews that said they took too long- I honestly just donâ t think it was fair. Who could have foreseen the impacts of a pandemic? So, for us, the delays were what they were, and we appreciated that they did all they could, with what they had to work with, and kept up updated along the way. I would highly recommend Gibraltar to anyone who wanted to put in an awesome above ground pool and have superior customer service."

"Contractor had good communication and the project went well on time as planned. He had to come back same day for a couple of things missed . I would give this an A rating but when I discovered the outside outlet that was replaced was not working I contacted the contractor who did not respond. I tried 3 more times in a year and even saw a coworker down the street and told him about the outlet but nothing was ever done to remedy this and I had to hire someone else to fix what was not wired correctly. I was really disappointed as this could and should have been taken care of. Had it not been for that I would have rated this an A in all categories."

"Having a Latham 36’x18’x8’ vinyl pool installed. Worst nightmare I’ve ever had to deal with. They are complete s*** and communication is vague at best and non-existent at worst. Be extremely careful with your budget when you deal with them because all you get for the money is the pool kit and kit install all else is out of pocket. The “all else” out of pocket means electrical hook up $3500, permits $500, gas heater hook up $1500, excavation $3500, cleaning equipment $1000 (included equipment by Pools Plus is a vacuum hose and net maybe $50 ?), concrete decking $15000, additional water if needed (which you will need for pool this size) $650, pump shed $400 to cover that unsightly, untreated plywood, $7000 minimum for fence, and whatever additional amount I will need to pay to have the trash hauled off if this job ever gets completed. Just know, you need to add a minimum of $20K but more near $30K to whatever price quote they give you and you will act as the contractor scheduling all subcontractors. You only get a 1 year warranty on the install work, and this includes the vermiculite base which is well known for water permeability damage after only a few years in this area. Every time someone comes to the house regarding this d*** pool I need my checkbook near. My suggestion pay more and get quality without the stress, frustration, and headaches."

In most cases, the area of the patio around the pool should be equal to or greater than the surface area of the pool.

Building an inground pool is a job best left to the pros. Excavating the area and building the pool requires heavy equipment and specialized training, and pools have complex plumbing and electrical systems.
